On the side of the road...

I know there are a wide range of people who are on this forum and some who have been around construction at some point in time.

Well...I was going down a road to get me some food (lunch time) and when I rolled past this I had to stop and take a video of it...it was just to funny to pass up lmao.

This reminds me of some demolition at one of my customers sites. They were tearing down the old 2 story admin office building as it was very old. The second story was level with the ground in the back and the first story was level with the ground in the front since it sat kind of in a small sloped hill. The guy using the excavator started tearing down from the back on the second story and got brave and drove out on the wreckage he was making to reach a place far away from him. We were all standing there watching him for about 30 minutes and he kept inching out further and further. Then the excavator started leaning to the side and one of the tracks broke through to the bottom floor and it just laid itself down nice and neat in the middle of the torn down building.

I felt bad for the guy as he was getting chewed out by his boss.

LMAO thats funny....I was just dump founded that he made this mistake as all the other workers would take the excavators the long way around and he just jumped right in and thought he could be superman or something lol.

Boss did right tho....made him be the man in the hole digging his own truck out lmao.

You've all heard Chuck Yeager's saying "There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots."

I say, there are bold operators, and there are operators who've never gotten stuck, but there are no bold operators who've never gotten stuck.
(Although sometimes, yeah, it's just stupidity...)

i ran those years ago in my twenties, when my boss was training me he said you just crawl right down in the bottom and track, after about 50 feet the right side fell in and the boom landed on a privacy fence behind the mcdonalds here, he was ticked he said i dont know why they wanted this ditch cleaned out anyway, lol i said steve hell theres an excavator in it theres no way water can drain he loosened up and smiled. anyway it was a little 312 cat had to bring our 790 out to get it out, that was my first day of training and ill never forget it, anyway running equipment something can always happen and always in the bottom of a ditch like this guy was you might be able to walk on it and not leave a print but get down there with some weight and the bottom can fall out. its still funny but in all honesty the guy that got stuck is probably a skilled operator
