Perfect time to vent about our inconsiderate local police.

Me and Andrew (the other admin) had equipment stolen from us this past November. Someone basically just drove onto the property, loaded up and left when nobody was around. Not a huge loss really but it was a huge inconvenience and I SERIOUSLY DISLIKE people who steal.

So we went through all the motions. Filed a police report, included all the items that were stolen in detail, even included pictures of some of the items.

We then reported the theft to the local yards, and gave them the police report #. Ended up giving the officer assigned to the case the yard manager's numbers as well, and vice versa so they'd have an open line of communication with them AND us to get this problem solved.

Here's where it gets interesting.

The yard calls us and says they think our stuff came into the yard and that they put it aside. We showed up and sure enough, there's the stuff that was stolen, the morons just brought it to the local scrap yard a couple days later (didnt even go out of town to scrap it i might add). This is at least a pickup full possibly a small trailer worth of stuff. Awesome! Well, you'd think this would seal the deal.

So we call the officer's direct line who's assigned to the case, and let them know our stolen property was brought to the local yard and that the yard put it aside and also saved the ticket/surveillance of the suspect who dropped off the reported stolen items.

The police have not done a single thing for our case to this day, after several phone calls and messages. It's been 6 months. The yard has been great and have called the authorities themselves several times trying to follow up with the issue, and they STILL have our stolen property set aside for us. Thing is, we can't get our stuff back until the police follow through with their investigation.

Maybe I will call the mayor's office.

I think if its been since november I would call the news. Nothing lights a fire under the butts of the donut heard like a 9 oclock news report.

That is great news. I suspect these three are responsible for many many thefts. I am happy your local police took this seriously.

My experience with some police is if the crime is a big head line then they are interested and the other is the very easy to solve case. I am surprised that the case the "admin" is describing is not getting more quick attention. A record of the transfer of stolen property is available???? Mike.
