Well getting a pop up from ma microsoft. It says my xp is not validated and will shut down in 3 days. Two days ago. I must log in and validate or else my os wills shut down. I have a bunch of old windows xp computers here can i just use the numbers off them? help. Tim Orlando Fl. i bought the computer from the repair sales shop in the neighborhood. I could go there but there closed sunday

yeah that should work, look for one that says xp professional. you could load the OS as many times as you like.

if 3 parts get changed it may ask you to re-validate. I went to upgrade the ram on mine recently, and decided to try a cpu upgrade at the same time. Started having probs and went back to old cpu but later determined my video card was on the blink, so basically all i changed was the video card, and upgraded the ram. Pop! still had to revalidate. I didn't mind so much but now I'm stuck with this system for 6 months ( i think it's limited to a new validation every 180 days)

also check your systems, if two motherboards are identical you might can just swap hard drives and give it a try, hek, i've had it work on totally different motherboards
