    Where is everyone ???

So I read allot on the introductions how so many people say they are happy the forum is here but yet no one is posting

There is 496 members ~~ 195 active members ~~ and about 4 to 6 people who post !!

Let's hear what you have to say, I know there is not to much difference in scrapping, I have been around it for 43 years and not much at all has changed but that is not to say something didn't happen to you or your truck or a good score or, or, or whatever

If it were not for Mick we wouldn't have much to read, thanks Mick !!!

There is not many secrets to scrapping, the only thing I do not want to share is my exact location. I do not think that is smart for anyone to do on this site, I don't mean this as dig but not all scrappers are law abiding citizens

So let's hear from some more people !!!

Thanks. I've been holding back the past couple days, figuring people were getting tired of my posts. I'd like to hear from others, too.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Been working on a big job for the last few weeks. Hope to be done sometime this week. Didn't think it would take this long to do. The load I hauled in on Friday put me at 28 ton from the job so far.

As of right now, there are, I think 742 members.

The problem is, that a LOT of them aren't real people, they're spambots. Look at the member list, at the latest bunch of new members:

There may be one or two in there that are real people. Dsandra could be, and there's an outside chance that DarckWatder is a variation of something, "Dark Water" maybe? The rest of those names are pure nonsense, which is what spambots do. I suspect that the image verification system at registration isn't the latest version, because there are spambots now that can defeat those. Maybe we don't see much spam being posted because there's something in the email confirmation that's catching them. I don't know.

This is a relatively young forum. I see potential here, but it's going to take some time for activity to pick up. The best thing to do is for the members to post good discussions, and make it someplace newcomers will want to participate in, and be patient.

And thanks to the owner and staff. As you might be able to tell, I kinda like this forum.

Thanks Ditch Digger, glad to have you on board.

As for your mention of spambots, 100% correct. It's quite a pain keeping up with the constant obstacle, however not impossible to manage. We filter through and BAN all the obvious spam accounts.. ie - ones with obvious irrelevant links, names and nonsense bio info.

Most of the banning is done by the main moderator here, Andrew. However, these users aren't automatically 'deleted' when they're banned, so they still show up in the user list. I will get to that at some point soon. The banning and deleting of the information itself is more important though, to maintain the integrity of this forum.

As for the activity, I see that the activity seems to be great in my opinion, considering the forum was opened on July 4th of this year. People definitely seem to enjoy discussing the subject, and helping each other out which is GREAT because that's exactly what I was hoping for.

As I'm sure many of you see (those of you have been around for a few months), we get new, 'REAL' lol, members every day. There always seems to be new questions, answers and discussions arising regularly. I certainly for-see this forum growing to a substantial size, ESPECIALLY come next spring.

Allowing members to post their services here definitely brings a lot of attention, not just from people who recycle metal, but people looking for their services too, which is cool. I'm happy with how everything's going on the forum right now, it might appear 'slow' because it's new, but it's by no means 'in-active'.

Naturally, we're always thinking of new ideas, and features for the forum. I can assure everyone, that this forum is all over the internet so it will only grow with time, and discussion from you guys!

Hope all is going well with everyone!

well, I am not a spam bot!!! I'm a real person!! yay!!! I am glad I found this site, and will post as I get time. I did however get a great find a while ago. I pick up cars, ie...offer vehicle removal. I pay people $100 "cash on the spot" "within 2 days" and picked up a nice 1976 Chevy Camero. It needs some work, obviously...but thought it was a cool thing!
