That would be a prime candidate for a Windows 7 upgrade.

A lot of people didn't like Vista, I never did use it. A lot of people didn't like Millenium either, i never had any problems with it

I didn't realize the date on the op before I responded to it. Not quite zombified but was getting there...

I used Vista Ultimate for a bit and after a minimal amount of tweaking (turning off UAC etc) I really didn't have any issues with it. Windows 7 took all the good parts of Vista and left the bad. Now Windows 8 is going to flush the whole thing down the toilet and start from scratch. Pleased I am not.

I only ever had one machine with Windows ME and that was quickly upgraded to XP shortly after it came out.

i bought a pc before all the new ones came out during i guess about 2000-02ish. It came with 98 and upgrade to ME as soon as it was released. The only prob i had was it had no ME drivers for the scanner, but installing the scanner in 98, before the upgrade, would keep it installed and working. Prior to that I'd bought a used PC, really got fried on that deal, wound up having to buy a new 98 windows disc for $200, thing was, at that time it came with 90 days free tech support from M$, and MS tech support at that time was top notch. I wore them out on that, didn't do my long distance bill much good, but I considered it a grade A education ; )
