I converted my cast aluminum CharBroil grill to charcoal a couple of years ago after finding out that those cheap stainless burner replacements they sell at Menards are JUNK and last only one maybe two years. The only thing you really need to do thou, is plug all the extra holes in the bottom of the grill or the coal gets to much air and burns to hot & fast.
I did some pork chops and spuds wrapped in foil last night. Yumm
My dad converted one years ago, filled in the holes & mounted the grill part on a huge piece of cast pipe he sunk in the ground because the cart was toast.
The pipe is still laying next under the deck outside, meant to take it last load and forgot it.
That was a great grill...after it was converted.
Thanks guys I was hoping it was something that could be done. Its all basically stainless steel looks like the burner pipes just burnt out I dunno maybe
I will take a pic and post it cart and all is in good shape which is why I hate to think of scrapping it when there might be some life left in it.
I have always wanted a brick type one with a stainless steel grill part on top so maybe ill do that too lol.
