I think there's something like 550 grams to a pound so your answer should have been $349.50

He's charging $8.99 USPS First Class Mail International / First Class Package International Service to ship 10 grams, which works out to 100 x $8.99 = $899.00 if he was lucky enough to have every sale go out of the US of A.
