New to the board and E-Recycling

Hello all,

First time poster here. I started doing some house cleaning and realized I had quite a bit (well for an individual at least) of old computer electronics. It's about 10lbs worth of mobo's, RAM, CPUs, GPUs, PCI cards, and telecomm. Most of the real weight is from mobo's and telecomm. Most of what I have extra lying around is CD/DVD-RW drives and PSU's but I didn't think that would fetch for much considering how much I have of them, about 10 pieces each.

I take it that 10lbs worth of mixed isn't nearly enough to yield a return with shipping included? (Gathering from Ewasted's prices) I pm'd him with what I have but have yet to hear anything.

Welcome to the board, it adds up fast once you let others know you'll take it or buy it.

10 pounds at $4 lb = $40 You might could ship that for $10-$12 giving you a roughly $30 (If any buyers take any amount, not sure about that) return, making your shipping more than 25%. I would recommend shooting for the 50-70 pound range, shipping would be $30-$40, and your return would be (depending on quantities and qualities of each type board) maybe $200-$400, making your shipping costs (and your buyers time/trouble involved) far less than 25%. Merely speculation and rough estimates, but I believe you'll get the idea.

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines but wasn't sure if ebuyers had a certain threshold on the amount. Honestly it's just really fun breaking down old towers and seeing what kind of cpus, cards you get.

Welcome to the forum, save up your boards till you have 40 or 50 lbs like Bear said and you'll do fine. good luck.
