in my location we are on the very boarder of what is called the sea breaze affect, in the summer every after noon between 3 and 5:00 the cooler air dfrom the gulf meats the hot inland air right over my house and we get rain, not enought to cool it down but just enough to make it more miserable right after. I sincerely wiss I could ship this up to my old stomping grounds and home to you guys. who really need it. We are all going to suffer big time from that flood/drought up there.
haha! I'm still trying to figure out where you are. I've had you in SE TX to Southern AL, recently saw you referring to Omaha/Council Bluffs, why don't you stay still awhile?
lol : I'm in NW florida just above Panama city 600 miles from every where.. I am origionalkly from Omaha area in south west Iowa. still talk to my brother there every week. spent years in CA, and many in Oklahoma. Im a roamer by naturebeen here 15 yrs, longest any where. by the way this part of FL is the real florida, and often refered to L.A. (lower Alabama)
We could really use the rain here in Oklahoma. We've had a wildfire burning for a good 24 hrs now, has devastated over 90,000 acres. I live over 50 miles away but you could smell it and the air is definitely smokey. It's been 102 to 112 degrees for the past few weeks. It's been quite windy which doesn't help for the fire. This is some freakish weather, it was similar last year but in the past 10 years or so it was rare for it to be 100 degrees for a week straight. Right now we need a very hard down pour for a good hour.
Great day I MN..hight of 78 with clear skies..it has been a rough summer up to now..countless days over 88.. I feel bad for you southern guys..heat n humidity are killers..everyone drink plenty of water..scrap hard, but stay safe
california has been fantastic, i work all day long in SF and dont break a sweat, then on my day off i cruise to SJ to let the sun beat down on me all day but not hot enough to make you lazy
Oh how I miss the weather in Cali. I'm originally from San Diego but now live in Oklahoma. We just recently ended a 48 day streak of 100 plus degree weather. But I'd trade the cost of living of southern cal to Oklahoma any day.
My family moved to OKC from Minneapolis when I was in high school in the late 70's...talk about culture shock. Good folks in Oklahoma though and I'm glad that I got to experience it.Quote:

Sirscrapalot - Glad he's no longer in a big city, and wouldn't go back to one unless he had to.
I lived down in southeast Kansas for a couple of years and there was a couple of things I had to get used to. #1 was everyone waves at you if you drive a pickup, and #2 iced cold beer in big tubs right inside the door of the gas stations, you could buy it by the can.Quote:
