Found a guy in Dallas area who works on cars and sometimes pulls out unused air bags. Is there a market for selling these? Is there a fair price I can offer this guy? Thanks for any help you can give.

air bags are real expensive new, but i don't know if there's an exp date for them either.
Since they are used for safety my guess is they are regulated by someone that has no idea what they are doing.
I work for an automobile company and I have worked with airbags in the past. My advice is to leave them alone they are
dangerous outside a car if not handled with care.
There is a market for later model bags. Not so much on older ones. Never play with them while the battery is still connected. Due to the small explosive charge, you cannot ship them by air. Ground shipping only. Pick a model & look up it's success rate on ebay before bothering to pull it. They go anywhere from 10 bucks to a couple hundred.
Thanks for the tips, especially from c4f5. Also glad to see safety conscious people here. The source I have now is a pro that takes them out. Instead of selling them as whole's, how about disconnecting the battery and using a concrete saw to cut through the steering collum. Would that allow me to safely dig out the gold pins?
i have 5-6 of older ford brand new in box not sure what i can do with them yet..
I have a friend whose hand was destroyed by an exploding air bag. Do not f*** with them.
Burly Guy is right. I work in the Auto industry we take huge precautions when working with airbags. This is not my opinion but a fact, they are dangerous and not worth the risk unless you know precisely what you are doing.

The wires that run to the airbag are two thin yellow wires with yellow clips, the contacts do have a really really tiny eenee weenee painted on gold finish, just at the contacts contact faces only, so little its not worth going after it.
I found this a interesting read as I have only a few newer vehicles here with air bags.
There are many hidden dangers out there these days.
