rust bucket lawn mowers and table saws, devices sooo trashed that the screw heads have disintigrated. what are your tools and methods for pulling out motors and what not.
im trying to get my tool box started so lemme know whats up, (started with a 5gal bucket-pocket-cozy thing i bought for a dollar :D)
lots of times rusty old screws are best approached with a hammer and cold chisel, or drill the head off it, depending on what you're looking at, and what you've got in your hands, and if you're just all out scrapping, or hoping to save a piece of it
I got a oxy acct torch that does wonders
yea the good old oxy/acy torch setup with various size cutting tips 00-3 depending on what im cutting also a rosebud tip for heating if your trying to reuse somthing a brazing tip also comes in handy for welding/repairing thin metals, 6" metabo, various size pry bars and hammers plus other assorted hand tools have a chop saw also it does wonders with smaller scrap items
if your budget is limited id just go with an angle grinder, hatchet a couple good hammers and a few screw drivers
i part out 4-8 cars a year and have a fully equipped shop with compressor, various welders, torch setup, overhead monorail beam with trolley and chainfall, and tons of hand and power tools
dewalt impact gun when that fails i use oxy/acy torch
forgot to add air chisel, they do wonders scrapping. And also sometimes use a spot weld cutter if i am trying to pull welded on body part for a buyer.
I generally go for cheap - grinder and sawzall with a mini sledge thrown in for good measure
