Copper where

Hey Folks, Ever wonder why some of these heatsinks are heavy check em out. Please Be safe.. when doing this.

have you done any that are the style that has the round copper chunk in the middle?

Jghilino, I get a lot of those. I just slice through one side with my sawzall and push the copper slug out. Ended up with 60 pounds of #1 copper out of them.

I put them in a vise copper side up, use a flat screwdriver and tap the blade down in beside the copper and gently lifting, kind of pry the copper slug out.

Good advice on cutting the tubing before heating I have made the same mistake myself. Mike.

Also I wouldn't suggest breathing the smoke coming from them. Better off doing this outside
