have you done any that are the style that has the round copper chunk in the middle?
Jghilino, I get a lot of those. I just slice through one side with my sawzall and push the copper slug out. Ended up with 60 pounds of #1 copper out of them.
Good advice on cutting the tubing before heating I have made the same mistake myself. Mike.

Also I wouldn't suggest breathing the smoke coming from them. Better off doing this outside
