A individual i know who is in the sanitation business (owns his company) want me to sell for him all sorts of hydraulic truck components and other components related to his retired trucks (he is parting out the certain valuable items)
LIKE - Swiper blades (pulls trash into storage container) SB arms , tailgate cylinders ,
Packing cylinders, Kicker bar for dumpster containers ,
a diesel motor 2 Mack 5 speed transmissions
Front axel with springs
Heil push out cylinders AND truck beds
Does any one know of any e bay like auction sales sites but for truck items I could put on e bay but i feel it will just sit. I will get 10% of total sales to manage it.
I also will have the opportunity to sell all sorts of things like tools from the trash that are vintage
as you can imagine the amt of items is vast, really a lot so 10% could end up being lucrative

Unless your talking very high selling prices 10% is not enough. I would be in the 40%-50% range especially if it was my Ebay account.

I sell things for others and get 60% of the sell price. I pay fees out of my portion and will rarely deal with anything that sells for under 10.00 or cannot fit into a box that can ship USPS. It can be profitable to sell for others but I prefer to purchase the stuff outright if a good deal can be worked out where both parties are happy.

They're giving you good advice there. I've tried selling for other people before and you just end up doing a lot of work for not much profit. Sometimes they think their items are worth much more than they really are and you can't please them. I know you're looking for a site to sell on and not warnings, but the 10% of SALES will lose money every time because eBay and PayPal fees take 15%. I have a policy now of 50/50 after fees and shipping. That sounds high, but if you get into it for a while you'll find that it's a lot of work with writing descriptions, pictures, answering questions, keeping up with the finances and shipping.

Bejak's idea is good, work out a deal to buy the trash stuff from them. That way they will know when the cash hits their hand how much money they made.

Ok, back to your original question. You're right on them just sitting on eBay, I've had a trash truck and other trucks before to part and didn't sell anything I listed on eBay except some leftover decals. I don't know of any auctions for truck parts right now but www.truckpaper.com has a parts section that you can list your stuff in. It's kind of like an autotrader for trucks. There are many trash truck rebuilders and used parts suppliers out there. Best bet is just hit the web and start contacting them to see what you have that they need. I'd still go for a higher percentage because it's going to be a lot of work.

I would suggest ironplanet.com, however they mickey moused around so much and drug their feet about listing my item. So I ended up going with ebay.

If you can get model names/numbers, might try Google and see what sites come up.

Could try bid-on-equipment.com. Don't know that they deal in that type of stuff, but if they do, it costs nothing to list.
