Ive just been told I could scrap a tractor like this. Does anybody know about what this would bring for scrap price? I thought about resale but it hasn't ran in like 10 years and have no clues if the hydraulics or anything is still working. Would it be better to take it apart for scrap or take it in like it sits?
At least sell the bucket and backhoe. For the most scrap value, start breaking it down. Just the amount of #1 iron you get will be surprising. BUT - I'd really encourage you to part it out, first. I'm sitting here almost salivating just thinking about it.
Could try selling parts but sometimes that can take a while to move them, Especially on older equipment. Definitely more than scrap value there, just a question of how much you want to mess with it and hold on to the parts.
There are companies that specialize in refurbishing old equipment like that and exporting them overseas. If you can find one they would probably give you better than scrap price.

There is places that have tractor/combine junkyards. They pay good money then part them out. Here might be one place to look.

I'd part it out... Google tractor slavage companies and see what they'd give you for it. (Bootheel tractor, ALL-State ag parts, Abaline Machine, ect..) Or see if you can get it running!
I would always try and sell stuff first, if you don't get a decent offer the scrap yards aren't going anywhere

Part it out. depending where you live you could take your chances at a farm auction. In Iowa we have them all through out the warm months and even a non running tractor will sell for a decent amount of money. Like others said the loader and backhoe will sell for alot more than scrap alone.
My guess is it would weigh about 9,000 to 10,000 lbs. I do not have much luck selling at auction you could be giving it away to someone who buys it for scrap. Just my opnion, if you have the time and space to store it try selling it or parting it out. Sometimes the auction fees are steep espeically if you need they to transport it to auction.
