Baby Warming Incubator System - Metals Breakdown Thread

After sales tax I bought these baby warming systems for $4.00 each. I had no idea what kind of profit was hiding in them. At first glance I knew I could get my money back in AL so I went for it.

These beasts were used to weigh down one of the systems. You just can't have newborns hitting the floor. Each one weighed 25 lbs.

15 lbs clean stainless steal. I saved a bunch of other stainless screws and bolts from these. I bet around 80% of the screws holding these together were stainless.

18 lbs clean yellow brass. I had another 2 lbs that wouldn't fit on the scale.

Various low to high grade boards. The blue ones on the right are from 1984 but I don't see one bit of gold on them. Low grade?

Aprox 200 lbs steel. Really wanted the caster off that cart, but it was going to be a nightmare getting them off.

I did get the good ones though. They have rubber wheels, should be worth 5-6 bucks each.

Now if these systems were just more plentiful and easy to find. Very enjoyable scrapping these things for sure.

Very good layout, nice pic's. The blue boards look like at least mid grade due to the ic chips.

Nice pick up and good job on the breakdown...on one of your blue boards on the right there is a red switch with white wheels, looks like a counter, in side there you are going to find very little gold balls. Take it off the board and carefully crack it open. I usually wrap the switch in a towel and smack it with a hammer so I dont lose the balls. Also on the same board peel back the sticker on the ic chip it may be a silver or gold windowed one.

They are called dip switches, the balls inside are gold plating over silver...worth it to put on a jar and save them.

I was about to ask what the core metal was. They certainly are very small but they would make a great savings considering you get gold and silver in one shot. Thank you for your help!

Those were the only two. I have a topper on my truck and it was hard enough fitting them in there together but I would make trips all day long for 2 at a time if I could.
