Obligatory Introduction
Hi all, I have been browsing this forum for a couple weeks now and decided it was time to register as a member. A bit about me, I am 33 years old and married to a wonderful woman and have two children. I have a professional career; however, the past several years raises have been few and far between. We manage paying the bills but when the topic of a Disney vacation came up we didn't know how we would pay for it. Then I recalled my childhood and my father scrapping metals. He worked night shift and would curb shop on his way home. It was my job as a child to break down and sort the offerings. Now the time has come for me to follow in my father's footsteps and provide a little supplementation to the family income. I have been part-time scrapping for two weeks now. I took my first load in on Saturday with my kids just to get acquainted with the yard and see how well we did. The results are below. I hope to contribute to the board as possible and appreciate the knowledge I have already received.
Shred - 240lbs at .10 = 24.00
Electric motors - 5lbs at .20 = 1.00
Insulated wire - 17lbs at .60 = 10.20
Copper #2 - 3lbs at 2.60 = 7.80
Aluminum - 122 lbs at .50 = 61.00
Aluminum cans - 7lbs at .60 = 4.20
Batteries - 47lbs at .20 = 9.40
Take home = $117.60
Also I picked up a coleman generator that the carb needs cleaning and hope to do a quick flip on that.
