A gentlemen from the escrap event I did on Saturday, sent me an email regarding removing a 7 person hot tub from his back yard that is currently sitting on a conceret slab.
My wife's uncle and I both know how to disconnect it, and I have him, my brother in law, his friend, and myself for the labor to lift it and carry it about 50 to 100 yards to my trailer.
Question is, what would you charge for this? Never have done one before, so not to sure what to charge.
I don't think I would do for anything less then $200.00

People always tell me I don't charge enough
The only money that I know of is the pump and heaters and some associated wire
You need to have a way to get rid of the rest of it
what I do is calculate how much for gas, then add what my time is worth and an approximation on time, then since you will have several people helping you how are you going to pay them? sometimes my help will work for food which is fine by me. I'm not sure how long this will take or how much you can get for it, I can imagine for four people doing that work it should be at least 100 bucks or more, start high then you can work out a price that works for you both
Well this one works. (forgot to mention that). Guy told me that he recent had lung surgery or something and doctor told him no more hot tub.
I can either sell it for a couple of hundred, but if no takers, then the landfill will take it as part of their recycling program. Anything that is not bio degradeable, gets recycled.
If I do, go that route, I will be taking off any metal related components for sure.
No, according to the picture, there is no stairs or fence to deal with.

Every job is different so it's tough to give you a solid number.
All labor costs + All supply costs + All transportation costs +Incidentals + Profit margin = Cost Is one way of looking at it.
id avoid a hot tub unless i already had a buyer for it, 90% of the weight is going to be fiberglass, insulation, wood and plastic. Not worth the work for $50 worth of wiring and motors. I
d charge $200 for removal if it is scrap. Free if its a nice one that works.
I usually sell myself short, don't know all that entails in dismantling safely either. just how I normally determine cost

Sometimes they're easy, sometimes they're very difficult, as some are made MUCH more sturdy than others!
If someone gives you the old "but so and so said they'd do it cheaper" line, use my response to it:
"Are they insane? If they're going to do it for that price you should hurry and hire them before they wise up! Oh, and make sure they're insured." For some reason the insured line always gets their attention.
Oh, and George? Cut them up. WAY easier.
$280 seems like a good starting point..I got that last week for a POS..
Depends on how nice you are..since someone is already taking it for personal use, you could go much lower..

Reminds me of one iv removed from a wet room in a basment a couple years ago, complete nightmare, 7hrs, and a pack of sawzall blades, tryin to cut thoses hoses that are spray foamed in vibrating around.....never again
I always see Craigslist ads looking for hot tubs and have heard there is a market for used ones. I have done a few demo type things for the scrap and learned the hard way that scrap removal is free and demo is not. Now if hot tubs are made from copper and sheds are made from brass I would do for scrap other wise a removal fee is necessary.

200 if its cut up and on the curb --- 250 if u cut it up and its in the back yard --- 300 if we have to wheel it out onto our trailers ..
the pumps from a hot tub should be worth alot more than scrap if they work, 5hp motors going for $150 each, the smaller motors are going for $50-$100 each
