Sources of same size sturdy boxes?

This is actually related to my earlier post

It would be nice to find a source of free cardboard boxes that are (i) free, (ii) sturdy enough for shipping ewaste and (iii) are all more of less of the same size to minimize shipping cost, something like 20X20X20 or 24X24X24.

Sure, there are a lot of places that throw away boxes but they are often either too big or too small or too thin etc. You can also buy boxes but I am trying to stay green (that is, both save money and help the environment a bit).

Have you come across good sources of such boxes?

Hardware and farm stores have been my best source here

I know you said free but Home Depot has a Medium/Heavy Duty Box that I use and consistently fit 68 pounds of material in...cost is a buck or two but you save time not looking.

You can also make use of the lage boxes...pick up a box sizing tool...really just some metal/plastic with an adjustable guide and a scoring....so you can size down boxes easily. Check amazon or similar for brst price on one.

Yeah it does...lol...the tool just is convenient and pretty much always makes the score not a cut so it folds correctly ;) but yeah...usr what ya got unless you fo a ton of those....and you can take the pieces you cut and make a triangle to reingorce the corners insteadof buying corner blocks. Thinj I might have sold a few eebay items?? Lol

downsizing, or shortening a box is real easy. Fill it up level to where you want it, then reach inside with a utility knife, cutting each corner up from top of the filled level, then just fold each side over, using the material inside as a folding guide/support. Then trim the tops some if they're too long for folding over.
Making a box from scratch, like from a flattened washing machine or refrigerator box, or just plain flat cardboard, isn't real hard either.
You can break down another box to see the pattern, or even just make it up as you go, kinda like wrappin a present ; )

p.s. use plenty of tape. I bought 2 six roll packs of shipping tape off Ebay 5 or 6 years ago, about the time I stopped Ebaying, and still have a full sleeve(6 rolls) left
