So I ripped one of those boxes open. There was a sheet of stainless steel on the bottom that was wedged in between the inside board and the steel case then folded back inside, basically sealing it. I managed to pry it open and here's what was in therehttp://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2223b634.jpg
Those round things are all coiled copper so I'm just gonna pop em off and toss them in my motor bin, but the case itself looks like its gold plated... Anyone ever see anything like that?
Was that a telrad board?

if ya have not already tore apart that would be a good prop board would try and sell it for $25-30 first and hopefully its not radioactive lol
Usually covers over portions of an electronics card signifies it is dealing with radio frequency signals like microwaves. The metal box contains those radio signals so it doesn't cause interference with the other electronics outside of the cover.
A lot of the components look like they are copper coils...is that correct?
It isn't radioactive...at the very least you would have the warning symbols on the outside. Ever looked at the guts of a radioactive smoke detector? No question there, with all the warning tags!!
