Cisco goodies help/suggestions.

I fell into this lot today:

4 x Cisco 2610 routers - one has a WIC-2T in it.
1 x Cisco 2524 router with a T1 interface
1 x Cisco 2924 switch
2 x Linksys SR224G switches
1 Cisco CE500-24TT switch
1 x Bay Networks 350-24 switch
1 x Cisco 4006 with SupII, 4232 layer 3 blade, and 48 port 10/100 blade
1 x Cisco 4506 with SupII+, a 48 port 10/100 blade, and no power supplies.

Problem is, I have no idea what this really is. It all worked when it was taken out sometime ago, but has been untested since. I suspect it would be of more value to sell instead of scrap (correct me if I'm wrong). Would you all suggest to sell as a lot, or piece it out.

pieces always brings more, but takes a bit more work, i believe the extra time pays off (depending on the item, and manner of listing etc ; )

I usually do piece stuff out, but didn't know if something like this would be better to group up. Thanks Bear!

Hek DJD, I don't know anything about that stuff you have there. mine was just a blanket approach, most stuff makes more in smaller pieces, been an age old theory
Unless someone can tell you about your specific stuff, I'd look em up individually, and see too if the parts for em are being listed
No matter what you're looking up, sometimes it'll turn into a wasted effort, or a learning experience, depending on how you look at it.
Simple research itself can be a full time, and sometimes, a non-paying, job, but you just won't know unless you look

What you have is a complete CCNP lab when interconnect cables are added. It may even be a nearly complete CCIE-level lab. I am too lazy to check what is the current equipment requirement for that these days. It's likely worth quite a bit in excess of scrap value when sold as a package to a Cisco network engineering student. The chances of it working are 100%. This stuff simply does not die. This is one of few cases where the sum is greater than the price of its parts and piecing it out would make it more difficult to sell.

Cisco routers newer than 2500 can run relatively modern IOS builds, such as IOS 12, which is what students need when studying for these exams. I am CCNA certified among other things.

If you still have it, great. If not, this is a note to anyone else who stumbles upon a rack of Cisco gear. You can always market it as a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE lab. That stuff is always in demand on eBay.

I don't believe you'll ever gain an advantage by lumping all that together in one shipment, ever. (that ., btw, is a CAPITAL period.! ; ) You might gain an initial bit of ground with the sales pitch if it is an actual group, but you will eat a lot of shipping on that for sure, because Nobody is going to want to cover the charges for putting all that in one shipment, Nobody. And guess who's pocket the extra cost is going to be coming out of ? Not theirs nope. You can feed it to em in bits and pieces from now till doomsday and it'll largely go un-noted, but try dropping a shipping charge on that in one lump sum, and somebodies gonna choke on it. Just my two cents

I think there is a buyer here that will pay for shipping if its a model they are looking for. Check the buyers thread I think they are located down south somewhere.

Wow never had an issue selling stuff and I NEVER give free shipping. Now I also dont ship really heave servers..I strip them and part those out.

Just look on ebay for each piece and see how many sold and price...I woukd sell all separately where you have more people that will buy each piece...you will sell quicker and for more money.

There are national and local conpanies the buy and sell used network equip...look them up and give preference to those that refurb wherw they will pay you some even for stuff not working. I am doing that right now as I have some heavy servers and 2 large racks.
