Thanks in advance kids! Is it me or is this price for dirty aluminum a bit low for 6/1/14 in Southern California? Thanks in advance for the looks and the replies! Some of the yard owners wear a lot of USC gear ($65k/year whewww!!!) Maybe they are paying off their student loans LOL!:&
I think it should depend on just how "dirty" it is. One little screw or half the weight is iron then there should be a difference in pricing, or thats what I would think. Mike.
we sell as old aluminum which can contain 5-10% contamination. example would be frying pans with handle. going rate of .50 - .55 per pound.
I have always been disappointed with the price of anything dirty. Copper aluminum ect.
Guess you will just have to clean it then :p
I've never sold any dirty as dirty though.. I mean it would have gone to shred.
In my case, too little of it does not get cleaned.
Here's one for ya. A yard by me is paying 1.25# for clean cu/al heat sinks but if it has steel on it the price drops to .20#. Needless to say I only sold the clean one's.
I did a load of aluminum Friday all sorted, they weighed it all at once and paid me .45# they didn't care .45 was all they were paying.
