dark room (black/white photography) equipment

Trying to decide what to do with some dark room equipment. Metal lights and cords attached, a timer, easels, tripods and more. Plenty of electrical cords and electrical equipment which could be scrapped.

The metal lights would look cool hanging over a kitchen bar, remade.

My main question is metal sheets called 'plates.' Here's what's on the package (still in original package):
Apollo Mirror Finish Chrome Ferrotype Brass Base Plate. Size 12 X 17.
"The base metal of Apollp Ferrotype Plates is a special grade of brass singularly free from surface irregularities. This is then coated electrolytically with other metals…."

It is magnetic, one side looks like yellow brass, the other maybe stainless steel, can see your reflection in it, like a mirror.
With it being magnetic, the scrap value wouldnt be much, even though it appears to be brass in it??
Any ideas on what type metal this would scrap as? How to maximize the return, if scrap it- sand off the coatings down to the brass??

Almost all the equipment could be stripped and sold as scrap., copper, etc. But would prefer to sell to someone who appreciates the old art of black and white dark room photography.

Don't scrap it! As a former Radiographer, I know that you can easily offload that on Ebay or locally perhaps to a company that specializes with NDT (Non Destructive Testing). If you have a full dark room as well, in good shape, you might even be able to sell that. I know a lot of people who are self contractors in the industry and also who have been doing it for years. I personally only was in the industry for a year or so, unfortunately, but know there are people in search of that type of equipment. If you ever can get your hands on any of the used film, by all means grab it up. There are several buyers on here that will pay good money, per pound, for varies types of x-ray film. Let the forum know how you made out, its always nice and inspiring to here about other people's successes....

If there was any spent photo fixer chemicals you can have it refined for silver.

Thanks thedude & brasscatcher for your reply and ideas! There was no photographs or chemicals. Don't even know if the electrical cords are still good or not, everything was packed in boxes and stored for awhile. All of it was free, only cost was gas. Just don't want to scrap something that someone might could use and value.

I am researching NDT companies, thx, thedude I never heard of anything like this! If you happen to know any leads, if I may ask, please PM them to me, it would be much appreciated. I really want to get this stuff to someone who is knowledgable! And make a few bucks myself!!

Hey Scrapme, I don't know of any NDE companies in your area, but I'm sure if you do a little research you will find one nearby. You might also consider putting the darkroom on CL and see if you have any takers. There are numerous ways it might be used, besides Industrial Radiography. Not sure how you came across this stuff, but I would ask the person you got it from. All the equipment used for NDE is outrageously expensive, so there is definitely a resale market for used equipment. If you come across anything else related to the field let me know and I'll do my best to help you out.
