I dismantled a few flat panel tvs recently. And im wondering if the small amounts of gold on some ribbon cable fingers and plastic conectors is worth saving? And if it is what is the best way of saving the small pins in the conectors? Im new to this and im not sure if not sure if im better off selling the boards as scrap themselves or tearing them down? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I cut the Gold plated ends off the mylar strips and save them.
But I'd like to find out what that thin silicon strip glued to the mylar strip does, and if its got Gold wires connecting it to the strip.
Best way to get solid Gold from escrap is to sell your escrap, walk down the road with your money and buy a Gold bar with it.
Its not efficent to recover your own Gold.
Refiners get their profit from what Gold you could never recover in the first place.
I do alot of gold refining, and I'm going to be frank, one it is dangerous, two, its takes alot of work, and three you've to have alot of patience, and lastly, one mistake and you could be in trouble, so basically give it to someone that has the expertise in it and pay them to refine it for you, It cost alot to have all the tools to do the job correctly, and it has to be done right, what you do with the waste, how to get it down to a manageable solution to be disposed of, with all said, Please don't attempt to do it yourself, and one more thing, It takes alot to make a ounce. its not a get rich, I do it as a hobby and enjoy doing it.
