I'm just starting to get in to it but it seems like there is extra money to be made by doing so if you can find a buyer for whichever parts you take off. Possibly even make more off it that way than selling boards complete depending on which transistors, chips, etc. you're selling
The only cap's I know to be worth anything is the Tantalum caps. There is a few buyer available for those. If you pull much else off of motherboards then you will devalue them. (puts them in a lower payout bracket)
I got mixed up on my reply. Was thinking taking items off boards in general, not capacitors. Been reading old threads all morning lol. Sorry.
I agree with them, there's a decent market for tantalum caps if find them
some boards that have large caps will get downgraded at the buyer due to the added weight of the board, by taking them off the board weight goes down slightly the but the price of the board goes up.
