I been hearing rumors of a county or statewide license for scrapping here in pa. Particular around lackawanna area? Any truth to this>? I see lots of pros to this, like all the weekend warriors will disappear and no one will be able to hit a yard unless they are licensed. Only downfall is it will not curb crack heads or thieves, they will come knocking at my door. So that is the cons....your thoughts? I also hearing the license will be 500+ a year....
Then it's your choice whether you deal with the dirt, or not. If you do then you are still keeping them going, where if you clamped down then the scumbags may not have anywhere to deal their scrap.Quote:

I try not to deal with thieves, but inadvertently there is always the question, the vibe, the merchandise is stolen. You really don't know. And I do sometimes ask for drivers license on bigger purchases like a scrap car. But most wont show a license to a guy like me. So there really is no way to know.Quote:

You can check if a phone has been reported stolen on numerous websites before purchasing.
That's interesting but I've heard of that for parts of PA before - nothing like that around here(knock on wood).
