Hello,
I've been interested in scrap for years, never had the motivation to give it an honest effort until now. I've come into a steady supply of old telecom tech, specifically Hughesnet radios (LNB/TRIA) and modems- about 200 so far. So I may be looking for some pointers, looks like a knowledgeable lot of folks here. Look forward to the discourse.

Welcome to the forum. The way to get the most out of the forum is to read the old threads starting with the sections of most interest to you. Once you have read lots of the threads you will have been exposed to a varied way of scrapping/recycling.
To get the most value selling for reuse is normally far above anything else. Take the time to read the buyers/sellers threads, we have great buyers who are members. Contact a buyer before shipping anything and use their preferred method of contact it will be on their buyers thread.
In the mean time keep what you have and tear down stuff until you know what's in it. Remember how I do things may or may not be the best way for you that's the beauty of this forum there are so many contributing members to learn from. 73, Mike

I'm not just doing e-waste, some basic base metals (just copper, aluminum, and stainless steel for now) and gold/silver too. I have a friend who recycles for a living- has a shop and processes in bulk, and my father-in-law owned a few pawn shops for decades dealing in gold/silver/coins/jewelry.
Once you've posted a few more times you will be allowed to post photos. I think it is 7-10 posts. One way to build up your posts is to read each day and respond to others intro post. 73, Mike
