Question about scrapping computer cables with ferrites

Question about scrapping computer cables with ferrites.

I have been scrapping computer cables for more than 10 years. Many of them especially video cables have ferrites on each end. I would always cut the connectors off the ends. Then cut out the ferrites. The scrap yard I go to call this clean insulted wire, I mix them with all the other wires and cables with the ends cut off i.e. power cords, Ethernet cable. Cutting out the ferrites adds a lot to time the process because you have to do 6 cuts instead of just 2 when I just cut when I just cut connectors off the ends. Lately I have been just cutting the connectors off and leaving the ferrites in but I'm worried they may say it is not clean. Because it is only about 10 pounds out of 100 pounds they may not notice it. My question is do most scrap yard expect the ferrites to be cut out in order to classify it is clean insulted wire.

I buy cable with the ferrite as 35% recovery insulated wire the same as if it had the connectors on it still. Best to cut them off. And really just cut them off once at the ferrite. By weight you won't be losing meaningful wire weight. Only matters if you sell the VGA ends as clean gold connectors and not Cu breakage.

I get $0.50/lb for insulated wire and just throw in every wire I get that isnt solid copper core or romex or whatever into there.... With ends, plugs, ferrite, whatever.... not worth the time dealing with cutting stuff off.

Solid copper core I get a higher grade copper wire price, same with romex. Everything else goes into the low grade bin with 0 processing.

I do the same too. Also have a local buyer for power cords, VGA and DVI cables for greater than scrap value.
