Hi Thanks for letting me join. I have old Manhole Cover From 20's 165 to 175 lbs

I Buy alot of weird things at Estate sales. And this is one that was not worth the pain in neck and back lol 165 TO 175 My scale said. I realize if they have designs etc they are worth more. This one is from State Highway Department Has SHD On it with checkered pattern. First of all i got it from a guy at estate sale who worked for highway department who was gonna landscape around it and use it. But he never did. First is it ok to sell vintage ones which im sure are not being used now. And does age add value or is it mainly the design. I will enclose picture tyvm. Im glad i found your site. Ty for letting me join. I having problems with picture will try and get it. Im not good with this stuff lol:rolleyes:

Scrap isn't the way to go with this item I don't think.... That's like $10 in scrap value IF the yard even takes it. They may be apprehensive to take it.... I am not sure my yards would take it. So your best bet is to sell is as a collectable or decorative item or something along those lines

You might need to have something like ten posts before you can do pics and links ?

I suppose there's a market for just about everything but it's hard to imagine manhole cover collectors.

You might measure it up and see if it would fit in a standard frame / ring. If so ... it might have some practical value.
