Guy from work brings me in his old Compaq armada m700 laptop. I bring it home throw xp home edition on it and it works. Its only a P3 500 mhz machine with 128 MB of ram and a 10GB HD but hell it works. I threw in an old linksys wireless card I had laying around from another scrap pickup I did a while back. it works too :) Now I have a laptop to put in the shed outback while im scrapping if I need to look up ebay values or chat up here.
Very nice! I've found that once people learn about my new hobby they are almost always helpful when it comes to either providing me with or pointing me in the right direction of some scrap.
Can't beat that.
I have the old P1 lappy that the ex wife gave me. Useless since the battery wont hold a charge but it plays the old windows 95 games that wont run on today's computers.
Im a sucker for old computers.....I keep fixing em and using them instead of taking them to the yard!
I would personally just sell the 128mb ram and hard drive and buy a 2gb ram and 80gb hard drive and then you have a okay laptop :D
