Hey everyone. Newcomer here, first time.
I'm a newbie here on this forum and to this industry. My name is Troy S. I live in Middle Tennessee. As I stated above I'm a newbie to the world of scraping, so I have a lot to learn and do. So I haven't found a niche in what I will be scraping. I figure I would start with everything, lol. I know this is probably a mistake that most rookies make. But I figure for one that metal ferrous and non-ferrous is in just about everything. I was raised in the construction industry and also worked as a brick mason for a few years as a young adult. And now I could kick myself in the arse for all the metals and precious metals that we just through away. I'm 37 now and a former truck driver.
I thought I might go around Garage door companies asking them what they do with old garage doors they take down. And I thought I would call around to indoor/outdoor shooting ranges asking them if I could collect the casings . And then there's the idea of calling electrician companies to kind follow them around and clean up after them , to strip the copper away from the wires. I know I shouldn't take the time on the little stuff but I gotta start some where. So if anyone has any ideas where a rookie should start please let me know. Thank you.
