New to the forums
Hello all,
Newbie here. Live in San Antonio and got started scrapping when I got laid off in October. The hotel where I had worked said I could take all of their "junk" from a storage room and I figured... why not?
I have an audio visual background mainly in hotels so that was a nice base knowledge. Then I just started taking things apart or beating them with a hammer, and reading everything on the net that I could find.
My first load from the hotel stuff was $470. Then I was hooked! I scrap anything I can get my hands on while I look for a full-time job somewhere.
Just trying to pay the bills!
Thanks,
Sarah

Welcome to the forum Sarah. It seems yours is a fairly common story. Not mine. But there are many who started here because of job loss. It shows that you are determined to succeed rather than give up and live off unemployment.
Keep reading the old posts. There is a large amount of valuable information for the cost of reading. Are you knowledgeable about surveillance systems? I picked up three mixer type boxes made by advanced technology.

Welcome Sarah. It sure gets in your blood quickly. That was a great first haul. Keep it up and keep us posted. Dee

Welcome to the forum...sounds like your off to a good start.

Hey Mike, thanks for the welcome. Determined is a nicer way of saying stubborn, and I'm pretty sure I am both! And no sorry, did not work with surveillance systems. I might be able to tell you what something does if I can see a picture, but not sure if you're trying to fix something or sell something...

Thank you all others for the welcomes =)

Yea something I'm trying to sell. I got several items from a gas station close down. Here's a picture of one of the items. By the way I use phot bucket for puting photos on the forum. Mike.

Mike, those pictures are good enough to go on ebay,

I took a peek last night as to how those were doing on Ebay and not much movement but didn't do a price breakdown or model comparison to figure out why. Any idea how old those are Mike?

Welcome to the Forum Sarah!
My 2 cents: before breaking down everything check first on Craigslist or EBay for more value of your items. Breaking into pieces is a lot of fun but selling them online you can earn more money.
Good luck!

KZ, there's no date marked on the outside. There one button for vcr so I expect they are older.
I was able to find a little more on it after changing search engines. I will do a better job looking them up on ebay. Thanks for the encouragement from all, I needed the boost, Mike.
