Welcome to the forum, whoever you are. I agree with skippy.
I am scrappermatt. I am 13 and i collect copper , aluminum and steel from computers and CRT computer monitors. I obtain these electronics from garage sales and community flea markets. Because I, nor anyone else in my family owns a large truck I can usually only scrap one moniter at a time.Again I apologize for the absence of an introduction.
Welcome to the forum Scrappermatt. Glad to see that you've figured out how to make some spare cash at a young age. There is a ton of info here that will help with your scrap education...couple of active CRT threads going on as we type that will help you.
When I first signed up here I went back about 5 or 6 pages in the electronic scrap section and read every thread. there is a lot of information, and it really helped get me up and running!
Welcome to the forum scrappermatt. What do you plan on doing with the boards out of the monitors, they are low grade boards and it takes alot of them to make any money. I hope you have somebody that can help you get to the scrap yard. Low grade boards are about .15 to .20 cents a lb. and the metal is about .10 to .12 cents a lb. Some scrap yards will buy them, you'll just have to make some phone calls to the yards in your area to see if they buy them or not. Don't the people on this forum intimadate you, you are young and have a lot of questions, don't be afraid to ask. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
Just be careful about the high voltage that can be still inside the TV's and monitors.
