I was tearing apart a rear projection TV and came across these.
1) Board weighs 5.3 oz.
Yes, gold on back
Do you think Motherboard grade or another grade?
2) Weighs in at 0.8 oz
Have no idea what I will do with it. Not like I find many

My problem is that it came from a non working TV.
Probably works but I have no way of testing it.
that connector/socket on the top one might have gold contacts in it, did the plug that went in it have them ?
I got the same parts sitting in a box no answer from anyone on them.
Those 852 chips do have gold and the price varies. My yard buys ram, motherboards, etc., and I usually get brown ceramic cpu prices...
Cool. I've gotten several rear projection tvs. No goodies like that in one yet.
I just got one of those chips as well. I have no means of testing it either.
even non-working, the time to test would be before you tear it apart (if you can ; ), possibly ruling out the board and processor as the faulty part, or at least pinpointing another component as the most likely fault. I know that wouldn't be failsafe, but at least might give more information for marketing the board
I got the same chip from a HP DLP projector. Not much else came from it though and tonnes of screws.
