Somewhat OT: looking for a-frame to roll heavy stuff into my trunk

This is a bit off-topic, but entirely since the contraption I am looking for can be used for scrapping too.

I sometimes need to roll heavy things, like freshly cut wooden logs, into the trunk of my car or minivan. The simplest way to do it is to use a couple of boards. But they will most likely rest on the bumper and if the load is heavy enough, I'll need a new bumper.

So I am looking for some sort of A-frame-type device that I can use instead, which would not touch the bumper at all. Here's what I have in mind:

Of course, it does not have to be exactly this, but I also want it to be foldable so that I can easily transport it and it does not take half of my trunk.

I can try to make something like this, but maybe you've seen someone sell a contraption like this? Either I can buy it or "borrow" the design and make my own. :-)

i'm wondering once it drops off down in that trunk, how you gonna get it out of there? ; )

How about something like this welded onto a trailer hitch where you could take it on and off? With a little head scratching I'll bet someone can do it. http://www.harborfreight.com/media/c...mage_11911.jpg

An interesting idea, but I don't have a trailer hitch. I'd like to start with something simpler. Then I'll graduate to this. :-)

This is definitely a different way of looking at the problem. Maybe I can modify it and make it folding...

Or sectional, so the two or three pieces slot/clip together. Smaller parts are even easier to store to save space.
