Printers parts and toner

Saw a big old shed the other day with some shelves and broken furniture piled outside of it, so I went up to the house and asked if I could take any of it. The owner comes out to the shed with me and says his neighbor is recycling all the metal. Turns out he ran a printer repair business until 2004 and had everything stored in there. He will give me the printers and related items if I take all of it.

So 15 trips later I now have 30 printers(20 old office lasers and 10 various inkjet), 2 PC's, 2 fax machines, a scanner and 20+ boxes of printer parts(rollers, DC motors, fusers, cables and more).

My problem is I also have over 1500 toner cartridges many broken or obsolete I don't know what to do with. About 100 are in good shape and still being used that I can turn into a toner broker. I can throw a couple in with every load I take to the yard, but I was hoping to get them moved a little faster.

Anyone on here have any ideas?

Google toner recyclers in your area and they will probably at least take them for free if not give u a little something for em

1500 is a lot of toners. you can take 10 a month into staples for $20 in staples rewards, but this would take you 150 months... You can also take some to office depot per month for the same sort of deal. Have friends set up accounts and have them do this also... so then you can move more per month.

Ebay good ones.... sell identical toners in lots.

Good luck... that's a lot of toners to get through.

Work a deal with the toner broker that you'll sell them your good ones if they take them ALL!

Try www.ecyclegroup.com they buy toner cartridges and ink cartridges. they pay shipping and I've never had a problem with them

Took in 2000lbs (about 320 sq/ft) of laser cartridges (mostly cracked and/or dirty that Staples wouldn't accept) @ .10/lb to ARCOA this week.

If they're just obsolete a toner broker should buy them - there's got to be someone out there still using the old printers. Heck, you can still buy the old school manual typewriter ribbons, I don't see where old toner is any different. Cracked or otherwise broken is a different story. If anyone pays for them take them up on it.

hum, I have taken 2 very LARGE grocery carts loads into staples and bestbuy in the last week. I make sure they are all boxed up and neat. At staples, I asked them to please give the next 3 people in line any credit that I was not interested in anything other than that they were going to be disposed of properly or put to good use. Not only did it create some smiles, I felt good that I was able to bless a few other people in the process. just my 2. BroJer

With Office Depot, you have to spend money on other things to get any rebates back from toner recycling. Definitely ebay good ones, but Staples is your best bet. If you have more than one address you can use (like your parents, kids, etc) you can setup multiple accounts and turn in 10 per account per month. I have 3 accounts setup (me - home addr, fiancee - po box, and daughter - her address with her mom) and I turn in 30 toner/ink carts a month ($2 a cart x10 per account). I get $60 a month to spend at Staples which I receive online and can print or pull up on my iphone in the store, and if I can hold out, I can use up to 3 months at one time before the first ones expire giving me up to $180 credit towards anything in the store.

I bet you were glad to get rid of those dam things and not have it cost you money. ARCOA is just north of Chicago right?
