I'm making this thread to try and see who all is here from Maryland and what you specialize in what yards you use etc.. Hopefully we can share info and increase profits for all around town
We specialize primarily in ewaste and have found a new yard in Maryland that has great prices on some items. Still looking for the best place for steel as we have used 3 different yards with roll off service.
I am just over the line in pa. what is the name of the yard you use for ewaste

Finally a Maryland thread . I frequent Maryland recycle , have had great experience there. i also use Cambridge metals Under 83 if I'm in the city . I specialize in breaking tools,trucks and spirit . I dabble in ewaste ( computers cell phones ) and video games !

Hey, I'm in Baltimore County not too far from the company you mentioned. I just want to thank you because I had no idea they were even up there. I used to work in Hunt Valley and I will definitely be checking this place out. Do you have any idea what they are paying for low grade boards. I saw that they accept them and I am really excited about that. Hopefully it is even a little better than Shred.
I specialize in whatever I can get my hands on. Spent the afternoon today organizing some stuff to take to the yard next weekend. A little bit of everything. Maybe I'll give these guys a try. They are even close to the dump, so I can kill 2 birds.
Last I was there about a month ago it was .18 cents a pound for brown board, I use Maryland recycle too for my non ferrous but for steel I've been using jss metals. Used Cambridge once for a roll off and they burned me on the price
I guess I'll be pulling some boards out of my shred bins then. Thanks. I use MD Recycle for both my ferrous and non-ferrous. I don't get a whole lot of weight being a part timer, so I don't want to travel too far to turn anything in.

Yeah it's definitely worth it to separate them from shred. They buy pretty much anything you can think of but ewasted is better on ram processors and things like that. Which md recycle location do you guys use?
I go to the one in Rosedale. Right off route 40. the people are friendly and prices are fair.
I take my non-ferrous to JS&S on the MD/DC border. Relatively recently they started taking desktop power supplies. They also buy whole desktops. But they don't take other lower-grade ewaste like floppy drives, computer fans, brown boards etc. There used to be ARCOA in Columbia that took all that stuff but I think it closed. Plus it wasn't very convenient for a variety of reasons.
There is also a Potomac Metals location in Beltsville but what they offer for anything ewaste is way too low.
So thanks for the leads, maybe I'll have better luck with them even though they are far from me.

I have used Cambridge iron once and thought about using owl metals but their prices don't seem as good. Best I've found for steel is js&s metals they operate like 20 yards in the area and had best prices on shred and even dropping a roll off. We've filled 3 containers for them and the one we did with Cambridge they took right to jss so I go straight to the source now. Everything else goes to md recycle for wire/non ferrous and heat sinks. Power supplies and low grade to mrp in hunt valley and the rest to ewasted
What type of operation is MTP? They are not a typical yard. Do you need a certain amount of material to deal with then?Quote:
