Im trying to sell an ultrasound machine and some other older medical equipment but, if I cant sell it by the end of this week I will go ahead and scrap it down.
Does anyone know the scrap value of this gold adapter that comes off of the medical equipment?

That's a coaxial connector, I'm not sure if that's gold or just a gold anodizing.
Here are some more pics. of it on the machine. It seems to be different than coaxel. One side has a little pin in the middle that plugs into the machine and on the other side you can plug another cable into it. I guess when I see that gold color I get my hopes up but maybe not worth that much, who knows.

It's a coaxial to RCA adapter, could be older and be gold. I have some old coax connectors for CB radio coax that is gold plated and some silver, but the silver doesn't look to be plated.
Thanks for clearing that up. Any idea how much something like that is worth? (assuming it is gold plated)
That connector is called a BNC connector. It does fit on to coaxial cable (not that particular one, but if it comes on a cable then it would be a coaxial cable). That particular connector would be an RCA to BNC.
I believe that they are gold plated. If I had a pound or so, then I would try and get a price from one of our buyers. Just a few? I would toss them in with my gold plated connectors and be done with it.
Ya I only have four connectors plus other connectors that arent removable. Ill go ahead and break them down then I will know exactly how many gold components I have. If I have more than 1lb I will look for a quote and if I have less I'll figure something else out.

Ya, I totally want to break them down but, the sell value is always more than the scrap value. And if it could potentially be used to help people by selling it at an affordable price, Im all for that. Although, the reality is that it is an older machine and there isnt much demand for this type of equipment anymore so, it is looking more and more that I will break it down. I will show pics.
Does anyone know anything about the safety of breaking these things down (radiation, chemicals, etc)? I think ultra-sound equipment should be ok but, you never know.
see if you can find a user, operator, or service repair manual for it. That may very well cover any dangers in it

Ok here is the next unit that I broke down. All of the pics in this post are from the ultra-sound machine.
I do have a couple of questions on the broads:
1.one of the boards has two cpu's but the pins are not gold, although where you insert the cpu the pin hole are gold. What is this board worth. Mother board or telecom price? (see pics)
2.There is another board that has some long gold pins that lead up to a socket. What is this worth? (see pics)
3. I think most of them are telecom boards and some of them mid-grade boards. What do you think?

I have no idea of the scrap value of this adapter. I would suggest you to sell the entire ultrasound equipment on eBay. This can give you the great value of equipment than selling it as scrap.

It's been awhile since I have read this thread, sorry I didnt follow up and tell everyone what happened. So, when I broke down the machine the very next day I got a call from a guy in Mexico that said he wanted to come check it out and that he liked the price and everything. The machine was listed for $800, I was so disappointed that I broke it down and I told the guy that I was sorry but, I no longer have it. I think I made about $60-$70 in scrap value. Well I guess I learned my lesson. Even though I tried to sell it and I asked around, I guess I could of waited longer.
Any chance you still have that guys number in Mexico? I have a trailer load of used medical equipment I need to sell. Most of it is ph/blood gas analyzers. Any help where to go with this is appreciated! Thanks........
It happened such a long time ago and I never saved the number because I dont get medical equipment very often. But you may want to post it on CL in your area and also you can list an ad in one of the border towns in mexico as well.Quote:
