Any one buy it?
I read it with my Scrap Room membership very nice and interesting as well.....
Ive been thinking about buying it. I was thinking it might be a good quick reference when you are out on the road. Havent bought it yet though
Does it tell how to identify each processor?
I think it's an awesome idea and kudos to the author. I've been writing an e-waste book as well when time is available but plan on really tackling the project this winter. I want the book to be the encylopedia of e-waste, lol, but, like most of my other books I will probably just make it a free download.
I highly recommend the e-Book. I would be surprised to find that you do pay that $10.00 off by resorting some of your materials in a few minutes!
There are several threads on here that show you the different processors.
Worth it, Some of the stuff that is says on there to advertise, I did it, and I got 50-60 Computer towers coming my way in a Couple days. Well worth it.
As the author of the ebook, I'd like to thank you guys for the compliments!
And Kochy, seriously? That's GREAT!!!! What a haul!
I plan on keeping the book updated whenever necessary, so I will gladly send updated versions to anyone who has downloaded it when the time comes.
:D
It's still available for FREE for Scrap Room members!
I read the book as well. I also used some of the craigslist ads and they seem to work just as well as the ones I was using allready. Being the part time scrapper I am I would put the Ebook right up there with my computer parts identification thread as far as how helpfull it really is. I even learned a couple things myself. Well done Ryan.
Ryan's ebook is a great tool for anyone, I wish I would've had this when I first started. Great job Ryan! Also, I agree with PTS - his thread sticky is a must read. Would also suggest Devo's component thread & Mechanic's sticky on grading boards & parts. Whenever someone begins 'escrapping', there's a rush of excitement. Most of us jump in head first, but we'd all probably save our selves a few bucks and many hours if we spent a day or 2 reading all of the sticky's and Ryan's ebook.
PS - For anyone that is unaware we have worked out a deal with Ryan for his ebook, using this link you get an exclusive discount only for Scrap Metal Forum members which is less than what the general public has to pay to obtain it, http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/go/escrap-rookie
Does it come in PDF format?
freonjoe, yes it does. i just bought one and im reading it now
I just bought it, too, and would say it's well worth it. It's already paid for itself in using it to answer questions I had yesterday while I was tearing some towers apart.
now if only i could get a scrap room membership on sale, i would probably buy that too
;) - i know
The book is a very good read, well laid out, and easy to understand. Job well done
The eBook site appears to be down right now?
I know a LOT about eScrapping but I am always looking for as much info as I can get my hands on.
Have been following this site for months actually and finally decided it was time to join in the fun :)
Welcome to the forum. Your in the right spot to learn even more. And the e scrap book has years of knowledge all in one book. It covers all the aspects of becoming successful in the E scrap business.
Good news! Website it back up and running :)
Thanks again for all the kind words and support. So glad everyone has enjoyed the ebook.
Heads up...the "purchase it now" button doesn't work on Firefox...only Internet Explorer. I'm on Windows 7. (I did switch over to IE and complete the transaction.)
Hi ggariepy, thank you for the heads up. I just tested in 2 versions of Firefox and it seemed to work just fine. Not sure why you had problems, but I'll look into it and see if I can find anything.
Thank you for switching to IE to complete transaction - hope you enjoy the book!!
Ryan
Bought the book. I put three ads on craigslist similar to the examples in the book late last night and got five calls today. Only two panned out. I picked a couple of laptops I had to pay for from one source and five towers and four satellite boxes that were given to me from another. Two of the towers are old compaqs and the owners said they were 386s. I can hardly wait to open them up. Gotta plug them in first and see if they work just for the heck of it. Thank you very much Ryan. I look forward to seeing more of the same.
Man, that's GREAT! Thank you for purchasing the book and glad you could generate some biz! The excitement of getting good calls (especially free ones) is what keeps me doing this. I love knowing that on any given day, you can end up with a real mother-load of valuable stuff.
Keep up the good work and thanks again :)
What about Safari for us "pc haters"?
PCs don't suck. They're inadequate.

Even if it was told before, i'd like to say it again.
I have read the book and it is a wonderful first step for any novice into the e-scrap world.
Ryan, Job well done !!
@BigRyan,
I have the latest firefox and your link in your signature does not work for me either. Have to open it in IE. Will be purchasing your book later this week.
@Big Ryan
I am interested in purchasing your book but it seems that I am unable to purchase the book by using the "Buy it Now" Button on the sales page. I tried using Chrome, Firefox, and IE9 with no luck.
Also, I can't seem to get the link in your signature to work in any of the browsers either.
Wait ... There's an escrap book? I must have totally missed this! Although it's kinda interesting how there are trends of craigslist ads that I've been noticing over the past few months that are a lot like one another. Hmm... lol
