So wondering what everyone else uses to clear your morning stubble?
Me I use either a Merkur 38C Safety Razor (Double Edge) or a Dovo Shavette if i feel frisky.

God knows, I hate shaving! Grew a beard once for a few months but that had to go. It seems to get thicker as I grow older and the hair on top gets thinner. It's as if your hair follicles are rerouted to your ears eyebrows and nose as you get older.
I answered but I guess my post crossed the line by saying I used three options...
or the forum ate it.
Oh well.

I have two lengths of hair annoying and not(annoying). when it gets to the annoying length I buz it with some clippers. If I have something to look presentable for I will shave my neck. My father always said "if you keep a beard shave your neck."

Ha. I drive about 15 minutes to wrok and sinc ethe Army still makes me shave daily, I just use an electric razor. But on the weekends its a straight razor to start fresh. I like the old school ****.
one not on there was hot blonde with your life in her hands
I've been a member of dollar shave club for about a year and a half and love it. 9 bucks a month a pack of razors sent and they last me a lot longer than I need since I only shave once every week or so.
Cheap disposable to touch up around my beard that I've had for probably 30 years. A pair of scissors clips the stragglers and a battery powered nose hair clipper. I wish I knew how to use fire to form my beard like the old west cowboys did. I cut my own hair except the wife has to do my neck once in awhile. :D
winter is Grizzly Adams style, no shaving, no trimming. Except the darn mustache hairs that like to get caught in my teeth...lol, I won't shave till the first dandelions open.
summer I have a Mach-3 razor and some cheapo clippers does the job well enough.
One day I would like to go to the barber for a straight blade shave and a nice haircut.
Not the cheapest but a cheap disposable once a week on the cheeks and around the goatee.
My barber uses a straight razor on the neck and around the ears when done with the flat top.
I just started using a saftey razor. I have gotten tired of paying the high prices for dispozable razors and the quality seems to be going down hill. The saftey razor is easy to clean out rather than the multi blade type razors which seem to neeed to be beaten on the sink. Mike
My user name says it all.
GRAVE BEFORE SHAVE!!!!!

Sidenote was just reading some dude shaved off his beard he'd been growing since the 70s. Raised $16,000 bucks for his local YMCA(I think that was the group).
Sirscrapalot - Fear the beard!
Let it grow, let it grow! Can't stand shaving it anymore! Let it grow, let it Groooooow.....
There's a thing that non-bearders are called.... BOYS! :P

I was in the same boat. 40 bucks will buy enough blades for a year and some. But me switching from disposables to safety has opened a whole other can of worms. What shaving cream or soap to use, which aftershave, what am I going to shave with today safety or shavette.
Dull blades and acetone just to prove I am a man...
Sir I don't think I am in that guys league yet. My beard length is hampered by zippers, torches, mean babies and general mayhem. The major benefit is I not only save money on razors but also on ski masks.
Quit shaving at Thanksgiving. Will start again when the first robin is seen. Need the warmth in the cold Dakota's winter. The other reason is the fact that there is more hair in the Southern Hemisphere than on top of the head. From spring until fall use a disposable razor and soak it in alcohol after shaving. Still using the same razor from two years ago. Bought a 10 pack and at this rate the package will last until age 70.
Beardo,
I got faith you'll put that guy to shame when the time comes for you to claim the beard championship!
An..he did win such. Saw something on beards earlier today an then this thread...it was meant to be.
Sirscrapalot - Can grow a beard in a day..like a chia pet!
Let it soak about 30 sec. and then air dry. Got the idea from Clark Howard and his money saving tips.
To cheap to buy shaving cream, when the shave is needed it is done in the shower with soap. Spent an entire professional career clean shaven using disposables and soap. Now I can shave the head the same way and grow the beard for warmth. Amazing how nature works.
I started using a safety razor because I got feed up with the cost. Like other new safety razor users, I use left over shaving cream.(from when I used a Mac 3)
I have read about the soaps and badger brush but have not made the purchase yet. I nick myself every time I shave ( my current weight loss program)
I was once told that a wet razor was the major contributing factor to them going dull. So when I was in the army I used the cheap disposable ones and soap. I did my best to dry them when I was done and it made a major difference in the life span. I think the soaking the razor in alcohol, not only cleans the razor but pulls the water off and then evaporates quickly while drying. All this talk about shaving almost has me wanting to shave, almost.
Maybe my back :)
Beardo, you might be the mountain man of the bunch. A little history lesson: Mountain men use to go to the rendezvous in the spring to sell their furs, get supplies, and a little known fact get cleaned up for the year. They would literally shave off the wool underwear using their knives. They had to have razor sharp knives. Now imagine asking another mountain man to shave off your underwear. Just kidding, they hired Native American females to do this chore. Compliments of Peabody, if you are old enough.
As a scrapman I'd like to tell you I use a die grinder with finishing touches from a plumbers torch but really I have a subscription with Harry's.:)
