Post pixs of collection
By the time you reach the age of most of the posters here, the tvs you have could be collector's items. Lol.
If I ever find a real old one, I'll save it til you can afford to have it shipped across the pond.
How 'bout an age check? 53 here!
30 here
Im am in the neighborhood of some of these. But like my 1953 dumont blk wht tv I still work just fine . Guess I'm not to old at 54.

Closing in on 34.

53 years I am !!
35 here
25 crazy years
Man, talk about hijacking a thread. The kid's not interested in how old anyone is. He wants to talk collecting T.V.'s. Maybe throw him a picture or two.
29 Here.
I would not hang on to a tube tv even if it was working unless it was old enough to be worth it. Any tv's I get are quickly broken down as they take up a ton of room.
27 in July.
Don't have a picture..but I have a 50" plasma, and 2 smaller TV's that belong to my kids.
man, what a day i just had with my respite lady (holiday lady) we went to a few hock shops to find tvs, i could not find a single one! well we were going Trash Picking in the dump but it was closed, so we went to second hand shops
TPAK...I'm not familiar with respite lady OR holiday lady ? Can you explain. Sorry you didn't find a tv.
Well, the thing about TVs is I make their backs fall off:)
But if I find any cool ones I'll post a pic.
Also TPAK2, the last photo you posted, is that a radio turner in the TV? The only ones I have ever seen are small travel units that have a black and white picture.
I am with Dee, what is a holiday lady?
[QUOTE=scrapdollar;50218 what is a holiday lady?[/QUOTE]
I'm guessing it's the same as a kid sitter.(Didn't want to use the "B" word.)
well respite is holidays away from mum, see she needs a break sometimes, so a lady comes and picks me up and takes me trash picking :D
I think there is a thick line between quality old Tv's and the tv's that are junk from the 90's / early 2000's. I wouldn't collect any of those mass made tvs. I can see collecting a nice old floor model tv however.
You best hide those TV sets from me cause I have only one objective :mad:NO MERCY I want the yolk The big old ones have a full pound CU !!:D I will find you don't bother trying to hide
they do have copper, i stripped a CRT last month, i took the picture tube out
kept the copper to make a statue
please post a picture of your statue for us when you finish it TPAK. I'd love to see it.
am I the only one that has noticed that only 2 people have posted a pic of a TV?
I just now ran out to the garage and filmed a 2 min clip of my oldest TV any one got any older ones?
and I am only 28 years old BTW.

Nice vid jack i liked the tv! i was trying to resurrect a old computer monitor that i trash picked
Do you always get up so early TPAK ? I thought about you when I saw Jack's latest video. I knew you would drool over that one. If I ever find a small old one like that, I'm going to ask for donations from the forum so I can ship it to you !! How is the statue coming along ?
i finished it and sold it to a friend, its the smaller version of the statue of liberty
i have an early 1950s RCA Victor model 17-t-310 that i salvaged from my grandmas old house. it looks to good to scrap(ive been real close several times),but i dont really have a use for it. its too cool to use for target practice,so it just takes up space in my shed. if i could work this keyboard as good as i work a hatchet, i would post a pict of it.
just get the picture from your comp, upload it to photobucket, and click the IMG link and paste it on here and then there u have it
Reading this again reminded me of the TV setup I had as a kid. I was able to scrounge 2 old Vacuum tube B&W TV's. One had a picture but no sound and one had sound but no picture! I stacked them up with the working picture one on top. They were both tuned by Knobs and were hooked to a single set of bunny ears. Changing channels SUCKED!
On the plus side with both of those sets full of glowing vacuum tubes my room was always toasty warm in the winter!
Still have the vacuum tubes out of them too!
yea, i was looking on Ebay for some Zenith console tvs, found a tv for $24.99

beautiful TV, try turning it on right now, but plug it in first
