Thanks man.. Well I will say that I am the minority. At the place I have my standing contract the owner has 4 other guys who rehab his property.. they are all his employees. Over the years I have seen countless guys come and go. Each one I tell them "Hey when you pull this kind of stuff- just set it aside for me, I'll come and get it" They never do. I find myself when I take a run to the dump trailer on site.. just jumping in and purging this kind of stuff. They always just toss it.
My philosophy is "if they aren't smart enough to take it and profit from it.. then I will!" I have to remove this stuff regardless, doesn't take but a second to throw it in one bin or bucket and take it home to sort and break down. It's a great perk of my work!
I did the same thing this summer. I wirked on a fair grounds during the off season doing maintenacne and ground works, and when I was picking up he garbage from the fair I got like 3 or 4 pounds of aluminum and I saved every old nail I found.
