    CMC Recycling Tampa

    Hello everyone,

CMC Recycling is a division of Commercial Metals Company, a Fortune 500, publicly traded company. For many years CMC Tampa has served the Tampa Bay area and seen many scrap and salvage yards come and go, but due to our core values of honesty and integrity, we continue to prosper despite the current market conditions. Because of our longevity, we have developed a solid customer base with high a customer retention percentage. We understand what our customers want and need from a scrap metals recycler, and we pride ourselves on our strong reputation built on honesty and integrity.

You can check out or corporate site at www.CMC.com, or our local site at www.CMCTampa.com
Please feel free to call us for pricing. We offer roll off service, and can also provide flatbeds and gondolas. We have six other yards, in addition to Tampa, located here in Florida as well; Jacksonville (shredder yard), Gainesville, Lake City, Ocala, Orlando, and Palm Bay.

Feel free to call me if you have any needs,
    Aaron Enos

I like that your publicly traded, I'd love to bring my scrap to a yard that I also own stock in. That would make me tickle inside, however your stock needs some love...ROE AND ROA are ~2% I don't invest unless that is at least 10%, you pay a nice dividend but your debt levels are eating into profit/cost. I may have to try out your scrap yard sometime, I will give them a ring for prices when I need to turn in a hoard.

I turn in scrap at your Lochart and Kaley orlando yard. I'm not impressed.

Each CMC yard has its own personality and operations. The yard here in Tampa is as first class as you can get with a big yard in probably the 2nd or 3rd biggest scrap market in Florida being Tampa with Miami first and Jacksonville and Tampa real close. We have 3 shredders in Tampa and a total of about 5 large yards competing for everyones scrap. What makes CMC stand apart is their consistency. The prices are computed and if you are quoted a price and the material is what you described then the process is as smooth as it gets. I can vouch for them that if you start bringing them proper material you will be getting .10-.20 more per lb on your non-ferrous and a strong price on your ferrous. I dont work for them and never have . I dont even sell them everything I have but the material I do sell to them I make alot more on it than i could if I sold it to other yards in Tampa... Just my two cents and review...

It's great to hear the positive feedback about our yard, we try hard here in Tampa to provide good service. I originally started in our jacksonville facility and that yard is much larger since there is less competition, but we strived to make our service just as good. It is true that each yard has it's own personality though. Being that I am in Tampa now, I can only speak for how we do things here. Thanks.

Sorry but one of the worst yards i have been too!!!!

The CMC in Jacksonville, fl is the worst yard in town. The staff is generally rude and will rip you off at every turn. I tell everyone here not to turn your back on those guys. I've only been scrapping for a year full time and know that that is the last yard in town i will sell too. I brought in 133lbs of #1 they tried telling me that it was 92 lbs of #2 and then treated me like I was the ******* when i told them to put my **** back on my truck!!!! Good luck guys i really do wish the best to yall but as for me ill go elsewhere.

Sorry you had that experience Jaxguy28. I used to work there in Jax and can tell you that it is not the culture there to be that way. If it helps, go back there and talk to Rick, he is the marketing manager and a good guy. Let him know about your experience. Our Jacksonville yard is kind of like going to Walmart. Walmart is so big and so much is going on there you cant get good service. I am not saying that bad service is to be expected in Jax, but it is so big and busy, and with the shortage of manpower to give the service we need to, sometimes people have a bad experience. Listen, we all know on here that the scrap industry can be pretty shady, I know CMC does a good job of being honest with customers because we want you to come back. Sometimes the guys in the yard aren't on the same page and complaints like yours need to be heard by the right people in order for things to change. If you want, get in touch with me and give me your info and I will put you in touch with someone over there to smooth it out. Sorry about your bad experience there.

Sounds like some pretty poor excuses with your Wal-Mart comparision........I think I would have left that part out because no matter how big the yard is I expect to be treated like an individual.....There is to much competition in this market and normally if I'm treated this way I can go right next door and sell my stuff.......

Cmcbuyer is only one person in one place, at least he's trying to reach out and correct something that's not even under his control.

Youre right, it is a bad analogy. If I could come up with good analogies, I would probably be making more money doing something else. I hate Walmart too, but they keep bringing me back with those **** low prices!

CMC in Tampa is a great place to do business. Very friendly staff, easy ingress and egress.
