    Yes we buy the tips only at $11.00 a lb. it's easier to pop them off with a torch then to cut them though.

    I have a decent quantity of drill steel heads for mining, I've been melting them out with the torch on rainy days. There is still slight bits of slag still stuck on the carbide inserts. Is that acceptable? Is there a better way to get these out?
