Exclamation Copper Granulator Looking to Buy Scrap Wire!

    Greetings all!

I am one of the owners of Wire Buyer, a processor and granulator of insulated copper wire. We have branches in Kansas and SW Florida, and are interested in buying your wire. We pay top dollar for your wire. In addition to our high prices (which can be found any time on our websites: WireBuyer - Cape Coral, FL (for Florida) and Best Prices for Scrap Copper - HOME (for Kansas), we also offer free pickup from your location. If you are currently unable to strip your smaller guage wire and are selling it off to scrapyards as-is, there is a good opportunity to make more money by selling to us.

****Please note that the prices listed on the website are generally for amounts under 1,000 lbs. If you have an amount of wire at or above 1,000 lbs, please contact me for custom pricing. Typically we can pay a good bit more for larger volumes.

****Also, if you represent a scrap yard in or near Kansas, we would be especially interested in discussing granulating your wire for a fee. The benefits to having us chop your wire for you are easy to see. Clean copper chops are worth much more than insulated wire. Even after paying a fee to have it chopped, you still will make more money on your chops than just flipping your wire while still insulated. You get all the benefits of having a wire chopper, without actually having to set up a chopping operation.

Please contact us if you are interested!

What grade is mixed wire with cord ends on, from computers, electronics, power cords and so forth? I have a few hundred lbs. No ribbon cable/phone cord.

Dunemaul, we would definitely make a trip to Orlando periodically if you could gather together enough wire. Let me know how much you think you could put together every 1-2 months, and we can definitely talk!

That would be what we consider "Grade 3". DM me if you would like to discuss details.

unfortunatly the people i was able to get truck loads of wire from have become a problem so i let it go by the way side. Most of the wire was only #3 by your grading and local yards still pay $1 for it with ends on. thanks for your time.

No problem. Thanks for considering us. Please also note that the published prices online are negotiable. Those prices are what we would pay for small quantities from the public. If you are ever in a situation where you have large quantities of wire in the future, please call me. I'm sure we can negotiate a price that you would be happy with!

To make shipping worth it, you have two options, one, fill a gaylord to at least 60 inch and band the bottom and middle to protect it. For 40-50% that will get you to about 1200lbs. If you have the option, the best is baling it into a 60" bale, I buy it like that, and I am looking for bales to weigh 2200-2400lbs. I like low voltage/fire alarm/tele/ethernet wire to be by itself with no tinning and no attachments besides the plastic connectors. I pay a little bit more for that.

For THHN, gaylords work, same with romex. For 8s, 4ga, 2ga, MCM cutting it into 8-10 foot segments and putting that in a banded gaylord should get you to 2500lbs.

I got a few regulars here that do alot of wire, low grade mostly, and they ship very tall gaylords because the density isnt very high and one pallet space covers 2k lbs, usually the rate for single pallet shipping is the same at 800, 1200, 1500...up to about 2000.
