I collect up the micro switches I find when I take things apart as I collect older video game items and the older joy sticks use them and sometimes they need a replacement as they get a lot of use and abuse.
I have a bunch of the old office copy machines around the yard and the few of them that I have started taking apart in the past had many nice micro switches in them.
Many don't realize how handy and cool micro switches are as there seems to be a small selection of different styles and many items that use them.
Guess I need to get started on the 50 microwaves sitting in the garage
Are you interested in micro switches in general or just out of microwaves?
I'm interested in switches from microwaves, but if there are a few other ones, I won't mind.
You taking drop offs ryan I go through sac once a week? If so how do you pay as in same day if it's boards or net 15 thanks
Yeah, I can do drop-offs and can pay same day for boards and such if we set up a time/day in advance.
I'm not a newbie scrapper but I'm not sure if i know what a microwave micro switch is. Or I probably do,but I just can't associate the part with the name. I have access to many microwaves on a regular basis so I'd like to do business. Also wondering if there's a way I can test them to see if they're in working order so I'm not sending you junk ones as that would defeat our purpose. Thanks!
Zack, maybe this will help. there's all types and styles. I'd use a volt-ohm meter to test them. Some are normally open and some are normally closed.
Microwave Switch Parts In Stock from RepairClinic.com
Thanks Mech.
zackcat64 - A test for continuity is needed. An ohm meter can do this, or just a simple continuity tester. Press the button on the switch, and it will either close the circuit or open it depending on what the circuit starts at.
Most switches test good, and the weight won't make much of a difference on shipping with bad ones. But do what you wish! I have to test them anyway
Thanks for the help guys! I thought they were those small black boxes but i wanted to ask to be sure. I save those anyway with the plan to one day cut the silver contacts out of them so now I'll have to go through my bucket and find ones that test good. Ill try to do my best at testing them and i hope to do some business with you! As soon as I can get a box together I will let you know. I also may contact you about other items on your list as I do have most of them. Thanks again for the help! Joining this forum is the best thing I've done lately, everyone seems very helpful and i hope to return the favor as much as I can also!
Added PS2 units to the list. Working/Non-working doesn't matter. Just not physically broken.
Thank you to everyone that has sent me material so far.
I am now reimbursing shipping for 2 lbs or more of Core 2 Quad, i3 i5 i7 scrap CPUs. If you send 5 lbs or more, I'll pay $20/lb and also reimburse shipping.
I am also now paying $30/unit for 486 and older desktops with 5-1/4" floppy drives installed. These units need to be complete, with hard drive, memory, cpu, power supply, video card, etc. They should be in an acceptable condition such as not kept out in the rain or full of trash/dirt. If you have any questions as to an acceptable condition, please let me know and send some pics.
Buying select larger sized desktop hard drives now.
Price increase on scrap core 2 quad and higher intel CPUs.
Good prices as always. If you haven't done business with Ryan I suggest you get a load ready this is a great buyer.
Redoing my buyer's post. Some new things listed such as 5.25" floppy drives, and some IDE drives. Still haven't added everything. Will keep this updated.
Finished adding a lot of stuff to the thread today. Take a look through the list, there might be some gems you will run across. I still have some more things to add in the future...including CPUs. If anyone has any suggestions or comments, let me know!
