My husband and I went to Pheonix Recycling last week. We were more than satisfied with the courteous, professional service and prices!

I had the pleasure of going down to see Sean about 1.5 months ago. my favorite thing was that i didn't leave with any of my material. They have a price for everything, and the prices are really competitive. There helper went over a few things with me to better sort my things also. I give the place two thumbs up's!!!

oh they pay cash with is sweet.

Mixed feelings about todays trip to them. This was my second trip to them.

    FOR EWASTE:

I emailed Sean on Monday asking if his prices were current. I had no response entering this morning so instead of loading up my two gaylords of ewaste I just brought my non-ferrous and a few ewaste items.

I know prices are down but if I knew this much, I might not of bothered.

Server Motherboards - $2.00 per pound (DOWN $1.20 per pound from listed price)
Power Supplies - $0.15 per pound (DOWN $0.10 per pound from listed price)
Floppy Drives - $0.10 per pound (DOWN $0.02 per pound rom listed price)

I can understand the floppy and power supplies but the server motherboards? If I knew this I would of never unloaded them.

I am glad I did not bring all my ewaste for sure.

    FOR NON-FERROUS ITEMS:

Prices seem to be fine as some items were higher and some were lower.

Also, PLEASE make sure you go over the slip before you leave the office. The first time I went there was a mess up on some items and this time, there were a few questionable things but because I was still unloading my truck, I did not see the weights. Also, hard to say what was what because on my slip there was "insulated copper wire" described for #1 wire, #2 wire, #1 copper, and #2 copper. While, I don't really think it has to do with the people weighing the items, I think it has to do with the person inputting the numbers into the computer. Even with this, I am very happy with the non-ferrous items.

Insulated Wire (Cords) - $1.00 per pound
Extruded aluminum - $0.50 per pound
    Stainless - $0.40 per pound
    Transformers $0.20 per pound
    Batteries - $0.30 per pound
    Brass - $1.80 per pound

    So in conclusion...
    1) GET prices first especially on ewaste
    2) WATCH items being weighed (not saying that items were weighed wrong but hard to read slip because items labeled wrong)
    3) CHECK slip before leave and even go over it with them (Error caught the first time I went, Error this time was not caught by me before I left)

Besides this, I do recommend them for many items and will go to again for sure!

Also, the workers were great there. If they were not sure of an item, they checked with others, which is very refreshing. They also showed me how they wanted a few items prepared (why is every scrap place is different?)

Im about an hour south in MASS. I have talked and know many folks who love them. Mostly its Cat buyers who are paying all the $$ and need not just top dollar but proper grading because they are paying for them.

I buy cats and if I wasnt so loyal to my buyer Id sell them to Sean.

Be warned Im starting to crank up my e scrap end of the business so Ill be most likely calling Sean soon.

Even another buyer I use to work with on rotors,. Dave with the cowboy hat!! Always said I should be sending my cats to them.

I am a battery king and wont ever stop loving batteries.

Electronics Is fun though. Im leARNING it from a designers stand point. I really think the boards are graded like cats. With much more than 4 or 5 grades. I just dont know how this forum is about opening up and sharing secrets.

Ill wait until Im a paying scrap room member.

Sean, Ill call you soon. Ive been unloading my lipo batts in gaylord amounts south of here. Im not doing full loads (trailer loads) but a few gaylords of lithium a month.

It would be nice to head up and bring my lipo batts and pc boards etc. Next time im ready.

    Love them car batts, AAron.

I appologize for the prices. If you dont mention when you drop off your electronics that you are part of the forrum then you will receive what we call dock pricing. I also appologize for no being available but as you know it is holiday time of the year and I was off for a couple days.

I recomend next time that you print out the prices listed on the forrum and bring them with you because I manage four locations Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and New Hampshire so I am not always available on site.

Hi, I am located in Massachusetts and would like to come up with a small(-ish) load of various ewaste. Are your current prices consistent with what you posted at the beginning of the thread?

Just as a heads up they are in transition right now and are not using the forums at this time. Prices are NOT current. Prices are not that bad but give them a call for pricing.
