Yes...sometimes they do have a screw in them attaching them to a heat sink. But not always.

Thanks, Mech, for posting the pic of the components.

To all of you who have called me and a grumpy old man answered and may have even been rude to you, I am sorry. I transposed two of the numbers in my phone number. I have updated the number in the main part of this thread and am listing the correct number here.

If you call, I will either answer or return your call at my earliest convenience!! I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused you....and the grumpy old man.

BUMMER! I'm sorry I gave everyone the wrong number, and I'm sorry I missed the chance to do business with you. Maybe there will be other chances.

It was thanks to a 18 year old who had the guts to write me a nasty gram in PM that I even found out. Oh, and the 18 year old made the trip and I bought his stuff. He was pretty happy in the end.

    Hey folks,

I'll be updating prices soon. Most things look ok on my price list, but I know wire prices are down.

If you have questions, please ask in a pm, text or email. Email or text will get a quicker response.

I also buy dvi or VGA cables as well as power cords.

Posting my experience with Mr. Ken

Hey Everyone, Thought It would be of everyones best interest to post my experience with Mr. Ken as an escrap buyer. I live sorta near him in illinois and had a little bit over 100 lbs of escrap from computers and tv's. I was really amazed because i called the cell number in the post on a saturday afternoon and he got back to me within an hour of me calling. Also, since I was going to be heading up to wisconsin in a few hours for my wifes roller derby game, I would be in the area to drop everything off at this place. He was very willing to have me drop on by after 7pm on a Saturday!! I left his place a tad after 8pm. The wife was of course a little "not surprised" that I happened to find some scrap related thing to break me away from her game, but since the timing worked out perfectly, I didnt get in too much trouble. It took about a half hour to sort through everything and he wrote every little item down on that sheet of paper to the .01 lb. If it was 2 cents, he added it up. Very accommodating, very worth while conversation, and he is growing/had a LOT of work in front of him (which is a good problem to have). I will certainly keep his information and any time I have a need to scrap some electronics, I will head to him! Thanks Ken!

Yes, I buy these. They are likely a Copper and aluminum heat sink. If you file, or deep scratch with a screw driver, you should see the copper color coming through. My prices for those are:

    $0.75/lb Clean Cu/Al Heat Sink
$0.60/lb Unclean Cu/Al Heat Sink (unclean means that they have plastic or a ferrous/magnetic attachment.)

Thanks for the question. Please post or pm if you have additional questions.

    Ken

I'm still around and buying all sorts of material. I have expanded to a large warehouse to house my operation. Some of you locals have seen it. Feel free to stop by or send me material.

Also, most of my prices are listed above. Please note: I'm buying ribbon wire from computers with the ends still attached for $0.65/lb. You will see my large socket motherboard price at $2.80/lb.

Please let me know if you have any questions. You can PM me or the best contact is to email me. redemptionrecycling at gmail dot com
