It takes about 20-25 3.5" platters... 150-200 al spacer rings... And magnets would be all over the chart depending on their size anywhere from 4 to 30ish??? Hope that helps??

    CTscrapman-

A couple quick questions- are you still taking platters? Any size? Mixed sizes?

Do the hard drive magnets have to paired up, or will you take singletons? Does it matter if they are scratched up a little bit (from being pried off each other with pliers) or do the magnets have to be "cosmetically perfect"? What if they're paired up but one chunk of neodimium peeled off one plate and stuck to it's sister (likely never to move again)?

Just curious. I don't have more than 5 or 10 pounds, but I'm trying to clear off some shelf space in the work room...

    cheers,
    thebugguy

I just completed a transaction with CTscrapman and all went well. I sent in a combined shipment of HDD disks and HDD magnets in USPS Medium Flat Rate boxes. I might have been able to do a better job on the shipping costs but a 40lb box of magnets is above what I am supposed to lift and it is more than I want to lift(medical reasons). Time between shipment arrival and payment(PayPal) was very fast.

I am happy CTscrapman is a buyer on the forum. Mike

I am ramping up to putting together a shipment of platters and magnets. I just need to wait to get paid so I can order an adapter to test/wipe the HDDs. I’m going to sell the ones that have good resale value on eBay and scrap the rest. Looking forward to doing business!

Thanks Mike, it was a pleasure working with you. My postmen must hate coming to my house I've had 70lb boxes show up. you might want to look into regional boxes next time might be a little cheaper.

I wanted to add a review, although it'd be several months old by now. I sent hard drive magnets flat rate to him, paid the day he received them. Excellent transaction.

You'd have to ask him. We just don't have many magnet options these days.
