We certainly live in interesting times. I don't think i've ever seen anything quite like this Covid-19 event. The closest thing would be the Cuban Missile Crisis back in the 60's but i was too young to understand what was going on.

Anyhoo ... it's stressful and it feels like the graves has come back out of remission. I figured i would see the doc and get some lab work done to see what's going on. I didn't fully comprehend ,but there's a thing in the blood that they can look for. It will be there if the disease is active.

I've got a couple of other autoimmune disorders as well and can say with high confidence that at least one of them is genetic in origin. It's a family trait.

TJ ... what you were saying about KBR & a precipitant seems possible. We were using an experimental filtration process designed by a well regarded college professor back in the day. In time ... i got the truth out of them. The system worked alright for a couple of weeks and then got very quirky. The local municipality has so much money invested that were too embarrassed to admit that it was a failure. They kept limping along with it for years and falsifying the monthly reports to our state regulatory authority. We used baking soda and aluminum sulfate as precipitants in our system. As far as i know ... they never caused any serious health problems but the water quality was very poor.

A different system with different water ..... a very real possibility.
portable water filtration systems. KBR claimed to VA it wasn't possible because they were using reverse osmosis blah blah blah, and then it turned out not only were they not doing any of that, they were pencil whipping treatments, not testing sources among other things. It's interesting because the closer you get to turkey the more problems with water you have, lead, uranium, cadmium, nickel, chromium and on and on. Some of those there is no kelation for.

The take away is this and this is straight from my attempt at a class action lawsuit: Because I and other plaintiffs were members of the United States Armed Forces, due to contractual indemnification against injury neither I nor my battles would ever get a dime from the company who lied, cheated and then collected the money for provided potable water to soldiers (notably, they drank the kuwait provided bottled water and not what they bottled/provided to us). Color me a little disgruntled. Furthermore, the my case is just one of 2000 cases for much the same reason. And then of all the water purification cases VA has handled, there are almost 10,000 active cases. Water treatment at Parris island from 1982 to 1985, those soldiers particularly females were identified to have both them and their children susceptible to cancers of the breast and ovary at a rate so high the government ended up agreeing to pay the bills for those families and the disability. Congress even had to pass a bill for this, to protect themselves against a lawsuit from the children. Our military has had a series of water issues from the early 2000s onwards when KBR took over all water purification and sewage operations in and out of theater. They know they cant be sued so they don't care. The government doesn't enforce any actual testing results like you would see with wells and municipal entities across the country. You could take in hundreds and hundreds of times the safe amount of treatment chemicals, with next to no awareness and that is what happened. These people admitted it happened and then hid behind that fat juicy government contract that indemnifies them forever.

And while I'm on about it, a 1/3rd of my unit has gotten cancer or ulcers so bad they ended up bleeding out internally, died or is dying from it. It seems like every month is another guy I used to play gears of war or fifa with in the rec tent is dead. It isn't fair that I've had to attend that many funerals, it's disgusting in fact.

I know everyone has said bullet point phrasing like "In these unprecedented times" or "In these trying times." and gone on to give everyone a generally bs update to whatever they wanted. Not so right now. I just wanted to tell everyone that the prices are updated, the price sheets are active and valid, some members knew this already but its public now. With Covid and other various tensions in this country I don't want financials to be so stressful. We are doing our best around here and it has really turned things around and brought relief. Now its time to maximize your stashes, scrap piles and rainy day stores.

We have changed just a few things, the most important of which is if you've done business with us before, we will pay half your shipment value RIGHT NOW for a shipment sent out later. Obviously if you flood us with shipments, that pool of money will dry up so we may ask that you hold your shipment until youve gotten your 50% payment.

Lastly, the market is incredibly volatile on some of this stuff, as per usual, the day you ship is the price you will get. None of this prices subject to change without notice BS. If for some reason i can't honor it, it will be returned to you with no cost on your end. Thats it, happy scrapping everybody and I really REALLY hope all of you have a great summer to make up for a weak start to spring.

Good to see you are back ! I think your philosophy of taking thing alittle slower is a good approach - especially after all that you have been through and continue to deal with. Hopefully as this China Virus dies out we can have a great summer ! I am beginning to schedule pick ups and will be back to full operations by the end of the week. Connecticut seems to be recovering from all this but we shall see in the coming weeks if it continues.

The virus appears at least thus far not traditionally affected by summer climate. I kind of expected that, it is following along the MERs virus pretty closely which was a hot climate virus. Wisconsin has given us a ton of DHS guidelines for my business type. While we are as a state "open for business" I have to go along with the county board of health and what my insurance wants us to do. That means slowing down a bit to keep everyone safe and I am ok with that. We have some already processed and paid packages and a few waiting in the cabinets for quarantine yet. I just want to say thank you to everyone on the forum for seeing this through with me. And a word of encouragement, we will definitely come out the other side of this virus and downturn stronger and more resilient for the lessons weve been forced to learn.

Just completed another transaction with armygreywolf. All went well and got the settlement quickly. Nice to see him back! I especially like the wide variety of greater then scrap value items that he buys (things like AMD CPUs, ES processors, etc that most others don't buy).

Prices are being updated over the next several days, we are all safe and healthy again, minus the fact I broke my collarbone so bad the pieces would not come back together. I had surgery to fix it last week, and am back to at least emails and extremely light duty for a few weeks yet.

It looks like we are back to normal schedules as of today. Nobody has an outstanding package or shipment right now that I am aware of and there are only a handful of payment pendings which will resolve today.

I live in the southern Wisconsin area and I was wondering if I could personally bring a car load of things (boards, towers, etc) and get a quote to determine if I wanted to sell to you or not.

At the top of the thread, there are posted emails. You can send to either or. I dont just buy ewaste these days, we do non ferrous as well, and while the copper market is a bit volatile we can quote and hold at least a day or two. You can send pictures to either email as well.

I am quoting on a per query basis. I'll hold your quote for a week or so. The markets are wild, ebay is all over the place, prices seem to make no sense to even me. AMD went way up for a while there, then way down, now its back to 2019 prices for no discernable reasons. Intel is really down, but thats probably alot to do with them pushing 5 generations in 3 years as well as windows 11 coming in and invalidating anything older than 8th gen. I also had issues with paypal losing bank information and one of my cards expiring. I sent a check instead to the customer but it took an incredibly longer than expected time to get there, although it is that time of year for mail to be terrible.

Send me an email with a breakdown of what you have, you can use my price sheets to identify what you have, and I'll send you back quoted prices I will hold for a week. If you need packing material, please ask in advance, I can send you trays and anything else you need, or even drop ship to you what you think you will need. I have had quite the rash of people on here in the last three months send material LOOSE. I know you know better than that, but for everyone else, please dont do that, and dont send anything in plain bubblewrap either because here its winter and cold and very low humidity, you will have lots of good material that wont survive static discharge because of packaging.

I will be posting a form fill or blank spread sheet that you can copy and add what you have to send as an inventory and I will be able to quote your prices by email. For now, just use my existing sheets and make a list. all of my amd prices should be accurate and most of my mobiles and ram prices should be good too just FYI, solid state drives and hard drive prices are way down, so are graphics cards, although the low profile cards are doing good yet.

Another update, something that I had a problem with from another member here was sending laptops that are bios locked. If its an HP laptop, I cannot get the winpep bios chips anymore, they are now unavailable so unless I can find a source of donor boards, I will not be buying any bios locked laptops going forward for resale. I didn't tell him at the time, but at a cost of 18-25 per bios, it was grossly underestimated how impactful having a locked bios would be. Now with chip shortages, I cant even source them. Nothing else of merit to update about, in a few months we will be adding scrap line items for purchase, including e bike/large lithium battery packs.

Just an update, since we can't really do the form fill from google sheets so that it makes sense. I will be updating a bunch of the scrap prices here this weekend. For anything not listed as well as "more than scrap" material, it will require an inventory to be quoted. The market volatility is absolutely asinine right now, day to day it seems. I've seen 4gb ram sticks be worth next to nothing for a whole month and then suddenly worth what they were last year. CPU sales obviously are in decline, probably because as of this writing most older i series is between six and ten full generations behind.

I'm far more interested in scrap material as of now. Desktops, laptops, office phones, docks...boards you name it. Shoot me an email (info@wispecialtyrecycling.com) and just ask for any quotes you need.

Evening everybody, I am buying board, cpu and whole scrap once again with FAST turnaround times. We can do 10-14 days from shipment receipt on practically all scrap. Ask me for prices here or by email, I'll generate a list when i get a chance.

Im updating the SCRAP PRICES, we are finally in a place with some of our machines to be competitive nationally. I will be adding a NET time to the categories so people know the expected turnaround time for material arriving at our door. Labor really has become a problem so I will make sure I am keeping track of how long things are taking to process.

I can regionally pick up material up to 10,000 lbs. Generally a 400 mile radius from Milwaukee.
