What about precious metal magnets. Any interest?
What is a precious metal magnet? A lot on this forum has been mentioned as of late about rare earth magnets. The common miss conception about rare earth elements is that they are rare they are not. the problem is that they are not cost effective to mine without slave(Chinese) labor. The US has a large deposit of them it just cost to much to mine. however the US in light of china restricting the flow of them has reopened some of its mines and should be up and running in 2014. Now that the price for rare earth has fallen so low they may not open them of on a more limited schedule.
2010-2011 was the time to sell your rare earth metals. the one that is still strong is Terbium oxide at $1500Kg, but its harder to collect and the scrap yards not going to buy a pound at a time. maybe 200# but nothing less.
Eric
If i just took them to the scrapyard what kind of metal would they be priced as?
Quick question about Fedex picking up packages at your door. Do I need to be home for them to be picked up? Or can I leave them on my front porch all ready to go? Shipment going out tomorrow Ewasted!
Followup to the above question - Does it cost more for front porch pickup than it does if I drop it off?
Please email us these questions... Our thread has grown outrageously and people are getting lost in the 25 pages trying to find what they are looking for.... any questions PLEASE email us at info@cashforcomputerscrap.com
Happy to answer them there! Thanks
I updated my post on the first page to help Ewasted with some of these questions.

If you live in a rurel area or have multiple boxes to be picked up it might be worth the extra charge, but there are many retail shipping place that Fedex stops at that you can drop them off at for free. Check the Fedex website for these locations.
Please email us regarding this. You must understand there are several variables involved in logistics, it isnt a one size fits all model.
For example: How many packages, how much weight, location - All critical to cost for pick up. If you email us you can get a quote if you provide us accurate details. Our other customers can only tell you about their experiences, such as accurate quoting, not on what they pay for shipping. One thing that does hold true is needed to hold the weight under 70 lbs per box.
We recommend parcel best value at 65-68 lbs.
Thanks!!!
I emailed you yesterday ewasted. Waitin on a response and will have a shipment ready in a week or so
Got my check today, cashed it, and am now happy. :) Very quick, 10 day turn around rate including shipping time!
Got results this morning for another load sent to ewasted. Very satisfied. Thanks again!
I went to ewasted last week in Ohio. It was a great experience! I love the way he treats his people. I will be back.
Haha, can't believe I read the whole thing! Some pages just hit the high spots, or looked for Ewasteds replies.
What if I don't have a working printer?
And, what if I'm in a rural area and have several boxes, will they charge a pick-up fee for each package? (even tho they're only making one trip/stop/pick-up to get them all?
If you dont have a working printer, than write down the lot ID # on a sheet of paper and insert it in the box.
There is typically a fee for each box, even for a single stop. It seems to range sometimes, i dont have it exactly figured out but it can run $3+ per box at pick up.
Again the key is to minimize box count and keep around 65 lbs, not to exceed 70 and drop it off if possible. Otherwise you are paying for additional services.
HOWEVER, if you see a driver, you can give them the packages, if they are willing to accept them. This wold be at no "charge" and would be treated as dropping it off. The driver must say he has space to do this.
Yeah, the shipping label's the trick there. I had a package picked up once that was already boxed, driver brought the label to them, but i can't recall now if it was FedEx or UPS
Ewasted please clean out your PM box.
Thanks
Well the wife is wanting to use the garage again so its time for the boards to go. I have in the 200-300 pound range. 4-6 large boxes depending on how much i can dig up. Need details on how to go thru your process and the shipping labels. Need to know how you want the boards sorted and what needs to be removed to meet your requirements. I have a fedex location close to here i can drop off at. The boards will consist of motherboards, finger cards and cd rom drive boards.
all i want for christmas is for ewasted to send me some labels and a check =)
i do have a laser printer and a big stack of label paper ready, i also have an accurate scale and alot of large boxes i can fill up
yea, i also sent an email, not expecting a quick reply, holiday weekend and all
They can and will sort for you but when filling a box I will layer like items together and separate and bag smaller items to fill voids. Keep the boxes less then 70 pounds.
Another boring review for you guys.
It was my first shipment to ewasted, had a bunch of questions that he patiently answered.
Shoved a bunch of boards in 2 boxes (no sorting boards for me), requested a label, and had it picked up at my home.
I was very pleased with the grading of my boards. I thought they were very fair.
Even with a weekend and Thanksgiving I was paid in 6 days (only 3 working days).
Mario is truly running a first class business, I've sold other business equipment online and have waited 30+ days to finalize the transaction. The next box is going out as soon as I can get Fedex to pick it up. I would certainly HIGHLY recommend Ewasted to everyone.
Another check arrived in the mail today!!!....Thanks again!!
Just finished my third transaction with ewasted and couldn't be happier. Everything you hope for in a buyer. Great service and fast turnaround. We are new to the e-waste field and have found it nice supplement to our scrapping business. I actually appreciate the comment section on the settlement statements. Its helps us to learn what to do with these shipments. Thanks again.
Another Ewasted transaction that exceeded my expectations, in both Dollars and convenience.
thanks again!!
Here is my report from my 1st E waste shipment!Picked up from my house 11/15/12 Arrived at Cash for Computer Scrap 11/20/12Processing 11/26/12 and Payment shipped out 11/27/12.
I had 2.31 lbs connectors
2.98 lbs Memory gold
.65 Green fiber w/al cap
.12 AMD cer
.16 Green fiber w/al cap pinless
.06 P1
.05 misc ceramic
.04 Intel 486
.05 AMD 486
.1 Cyrix M11
.67 Rambus
.13 Green fiber
.22 Black fiber
.39 AMD Cer
16.7 floppy drives
4.8 Motherboards
5.8 fingerboards
2.0 serverboards
8.17 hd w/pcb
45 lbs of stuff was $178.83 less shipping of $37.73 so a total of $141.10!
Next time I think I will break down the floppy/dvd/cd drives as I only made $3.01 for them and they added over 16 lbs to the package! Also will see what the difference in shipping is if I bring the package to Fed X instead of them picking up at my house.
Would do this again! Thanks Ewasted!
Assume the delay in payment was due to the Holiday. Is everyone else still receiving theirs within a week or so? Mario has always paid me direct deposit. Quick and painless. The only issue I've had is on my last shipment - my print-out requested items to be sorted together. Kind of confused me as my impression was they sort for you. I bag processors, Ram, HDD boards, etc separate, but never sorted MB's by grade. I also boxed MB's and finger cards together. When I inquired further here is what I was told:
"For memory, individually baggy the gold trim, silver/tin, and rambus – or rubberband them in bundles separated.
Same with CPUs.....
Motherboards stack them one face up, one facing down. Keep all the green motherboards together then use the Chinese boards.
We do some sorting here but it helps expedite the process if you can sort stuff that is already in your hands when boxing it up. In shipping it goes everywhere so we are searching for tiny sticks of ram to make sure we are paying you out on your material.
On the motherboards, remove the batteries, steel plates if there are any on the rear of the board, and aluminum heatsinks.
We have some pictures coming up soon and videos!"
Hope this helps anyone needing further explanation.
Got check today! 11/29/12 and yes delay due to the Thanksgiving Holiday! Thanks Ewasted!
does trimming the gold leads on the motherboards devalue them?
Shipped my package out from Murfreesboro, TN on the 26th and was recieved on the 30th. It was processed that same day and the report was available for me to view. Quick service and I was very pleased with the grading of my boards. Around 130lbs worth of material and I couldn't be happier with my expirience. I have a few hundred more pounds being prepared to ship out and I will continue to use cfcs for all of my future shipments.
Thanks

I have had a package sitting there since thurs. Morn. They have really slowed down but still a great place.
Hi Phil,
Traditionally it takes 1-3 business days to process (this is in our Q & A on our page).
Sometimes faster than others... Not to mention undergoing R2 right now is taking up considerable time, money and man power.
I anticipate 1-2 day processing times in the next few weeks again.
thanks
